Reaction: Few to no recognizable names, a genre that doesn't market itself easily, these are just a couple of the reasons the studio suspects for the box office failure of this one.

"The filmmakers clearly have a lot of affection for their young characters as a good amount of care appears to have gone into their characterization. I can't really say the same for any of the adult characters, who feel ripped out of a completely different movie, but when the focus is on the teens, this one works." - Chris Mears, Slashfilm

"I can't for the life of me figure out who this film was made for. Sure, it's a teen film, but then most of the film's adult figures are played former wrestlers who retired before most of the younger cast was alive. The story mostly works, even if it is a bit hokey at times." - Dave Manning, The Ridgefield Press

"Strawberry High isn't a horrible film, but it is definitely one without an audience in mind. A teen film led by lesser-knowns isn't the end of the world, or even out of the ordinary, but then the lone adults in the film are only known by niche wrestling fans (who this film would not appeal to). The casting of the wrestlers isn't the only example of an identity crisis in this film, but it was one very glaring and distracting example." - Stephen Bonds, San Francisco Chronicle

Rated PG-13 for some language and thematic material
