Justice League Unlimited: Boris Kodjoe ("Station 19", Addicted) has been cast as the new villain for the Justice League to square off against in Justice League Unlimited. He will play a man from a future where the Justice League rules with an iron fist, so he travels back in time to stop them. Also joining the time-jumping film - or rather returning for it - will be the familiar faces of Jesse Plemons (The Tower, Booster Gold II: The Booster Gold Story), Sean Bean (Tail, Red Sonja) and Dichen Lachman (Superman: The Last Son of Krypton, "Animal Kingdom"). Plemons will reprise his role of Clayface from Booster Gold II, Bean will return as Hath-Set from Hawkman, and Lachman will once again play Lex Luthor's partner-in-crime Mercy Graves. Michael Bay is directing this mega-blockbuster, which is once again penned by APJ, D.R. Cobb and Chad Taylor.
Resident Evil 4: Warwick Davis (Malificent: Mistress of Evil, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker), Alexandra Shipp (Bastion, The Temptations), Mark Consuelos ("Riverdale", Nine Lives), Ursula Corbero (Snake Eyes, "Money Heist") and Samantha Win (Army of the Dead, Wonder Woman) will round out the cast of Season 21's debut film, Resident Evil 4. The film once again hails from writer Carl Flimmer and director James Wan.
Wolf: Karl Glusman (Excalibur, Martian Manhunter), Claire Danes (Revelations, Blackbird) and Lennie James (The Devil's Revenge, "The Walking Dead") have signed on to director Nicolas Winding Refn and writer Roy Horne's latest collaboration, Wolf. Glusman will play a up-and-coming film executive, Danes will play Bradley Cooper's wife, and James will play a detective investigating a series of grisly murders. This film is based on/inspired by the 1994 film of the same name starring Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Rookie's Road: The upcoming war comedy from director Todd Phillips has completed its cast with the additions of Dylan Schmid ("Snowpiercer", "A Teacher"), Michelle Williams (Our Father, To the Other Side) and Mena Massoud ("Reprisal", Aladdin). Schmid and Massoud will play soldiers while Williams will play the wife of Adam Driver's character. Jacob Jones penned the script.
The Water Cure: Haley Bennett (Village of Madness, Six Billion Dollar Man), Zoey Deutch (Oklahoma!, Girl/Girl), Sabrina Carpenter (Beartown, Zombielove) and Cate Blanchett (For Those Who Don't Read Me, Mass Effect 3 - Part 2) have signed on to star in The Water Cure, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sophie Mackintosh. The film will tell the story of three young women who have been raised without ever seeing any men other than their father, who has gone missing. One day a few men wash ashore near their house, throwing their lives for a loop. Patty Jenkins (Odette, Mass Effect: The Shadow Broker) is set to direct the film from an adaptation by Rachel Hallett Hardcastle (Still Lives, All the Pretty Horses) and Rosie JoLove (Excellent Women, The Wonder).
My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man!: Next season will see the first collaboration between writers Meirad Tako (If We Know the Right Way, The Emperor of Latium) and Chad Taylor (Observance, Gambit: District X), in a film reportedly inspired by the isekai anime genre. Timothee Chalamet (Should've Been Here, Oh Johnny Boy) and Jim Carrey (Spark of Madness, Sonic the Hedgehog) have signed on to star in the film, which will tell the story of a musical prodigy (Chalamet) who is transported to another world and into the body of an older man (Carrey). Also signing onto the picture is Melissa McCarthy (Thunder Force, The Kitchen), who will play Carrey's "wise-cracking" sister. Taika Waititi (Bonnie and Clyde, Jojo Rabbit) will direct the film.
