Welcome to the 4th Official Last Resort Films Comic-Con! This season, we have exclusive news and behind-the-scenes information on four upcoming LRF releases for Season 20....
Round 2 - Red Wolf
Early in Season 21, we will see a film based on a little-known Marvel character known as Red Wolf. The film based on the Native American hero is going for a realistic action film vibe rather than a traditional superhero film. "Nez Perce" scene-stealer Tatanka Means (Once Upon a River, "The Son") has already been announced as the title character with Billy Bob Thornton (Maple Leaf, Skin Tight) as the film's villain. Red Wolf is directed by Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo (Mekko, "Reservation Dogs") and adapted by writers Jimmy Ellis (The Grenade, The World: Done to Death) and Dwight Gallo (X-Men: The Cure, Cocaine Cowboys) in their first collaboration. Here is an early look at the complete poster for the soon-to-be-released film.
Round 5 - Wonder Woman
It has been oft-rumored that Wonder Woman could potentially make her way to LRF DC Comics Universe, and it looks like Season 21 will finally see it happen. Kathryn Bigelow (Mr. Big, October Crisis) has agreed to direct the film after signed a contract that would make her one of the highest paid female directors in Hollywood history (and certainly in LRF history). D.R. Cobb (Constantine: The Hellblazer, Spider-Man) penned the film, which will reportedly feature a more modern spin on the character. After a long and secretive search, the film has also cast its title character, with Alexandra Daddario (Urban Cowboy, The Creature: The Beginning) coming away with the role. She reportedly became the filmmakers' favored choice due to her genre flexibility and her resemblance to Lynda Carter, star of the 1970s "Wonder Woman" TV series.
Round 7 - Atlantis
There have been some rumblings on social media about LRF's DC Comics Universe taking the plunge down to Atlantis, but we can finally be sure now that the season is almost upon us. The upcoming film, Atlantis, will cover an Atlantean power struggle as young Arthur Curry and his half-brother come into adulthood. No cast or director have been officially announced by the studio, but we do now have word that film legend Steven Spielberg (Circumstances of Time, Hiroshima) will serve as a producer on the film.
Round 8 - Ghost Rider
As the studio's Marvel Universe continues expanding, it was only a matter of time until they got around to some of the more supernatural characters the comics have to offer. This season will see a film based around the Ghost Rider character. Aaron Paul (Outlaw Country, Life of a Champion Part 2) has been officially cast to play Danny Ketch, who becomes the supernaturally-powered "spirit of vengeance". No word on director yet, but the film has been written by LRF Marvel Universe regular Mark Newton (The Fantastic Four, Gears of War).
Round 10 - Supergirl
Chloe Grace Moretz (Superman: The Las Son of Krypton, Fear of the Dark) already briefly appeared as Kara Zor-El in Superman: The Last Son of Krypton, but now that Superman is away from Earth (minor spoiler for that film) she will be getting her own film. Here she is as the character in the first promotional art for the film. John Malone (Risico, Superman: The Last Son of Krypton) is returning as the writer of the film, which is reportedly looking for an A-List director to tackle his vision.
