Reaction: The studio has no complaints as this fourth film in the Resident Evil franchise is the most successful entry yet. It may not be the most successful or profitable franchise for the studio, but it has been consistent.
"The first movie is terrible and boring. The second is a total throwaway, the third starts making it more interesting, but now the fourth is interesting, brings new things to the table and gives Scott Eastwood's Leon more to do. But, it's too slow, too self-explanatory, and too boring to match what many fans of the video games series want from what they call the best game of the series." - Harmon Panza, Entertainment Weekly
"At first the drastic change in setting and characters had me worried about this one, but it turned out to be a nice change of pace getting away from Racoon City for a spell. The story doesn't really make a lot of sense, but the atmosphere is the creepiest yet for the series." - Shawn Moseby, Fresno Bee
"Resident Evil 4 has perhaps more legitimate scares than the prior three films combined. I couldn't tell you what the exact plot of the film is (it's pretty convoluted), but James Wan's moody and spooky direction makes it all watchable." - Jeremy Raren, RottenTomatoes.com
Rated R for graphic violence and language
