Wolf: Jena Malone (Every Secret Thing, "Too Old to Die Young") has signed on to the cast of Wolf, making it her first LRF appearance since Season 1. She will play the personal assistant of Bradley Cooper's character. Also joining the film are Desmond Harrington (Cecil, Life on Mars) and Christopher Heyerdahl ("Hell on Wheels", Togo). Harrington will play a movie star and Heyerdahl will play a doctor. Nicolas Winding Refn is directing from a script by Roy Horne.
The Water Cure: John Gallagher Jr. (The Sandman, Depth Perception) and Haley Joel Osment (Jersey Devil, Teslin, Yukon) have signed on to supporting roles in The Water Cure. They will play men who wind up around a family of women who have never seen men other than their father. Grayson Eddey (On the Rocks, "City on a Hill") will also join the film as the son of John Gallagher Jr.'s character. Patty Jenkins is helming the film, based on on the novel by Sophie Mackintosh, from a script by Rachel Hallett Hardcastle and Rosie JoLove.
My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man!: Mark Strong (Halo 6, Crimson), Steve Carell (Tumor, Circumstances of Time) and Mason Gooding (Let It Snow, Booksmart) have officially signed on to join the Timothee Chalamet and Jim Carrey-led comedy/fantasy film. Also, rumor has it Julia Roberts (Ben Is Back, "Homecoming") may be making her LRF debut in a small cameo role in the film. Taika Waititi is directing the film based on an original script by Meirad Tako and Chad Taylor.
Red Wolf: Another film with a wolf-centric title will also be on its way to theaters soon. This one, however, is based on the Marvel Comics Native American hero, Red Wolf. "Nez Perce" scene stealer Tatanka Means (Once Upon a River, "The Son") has been tapped for the lead character, making it by far the biggest role of his career. He will play William Talltrees, a young Native man in Montana who sets out to avenge crimes against his family and tribe. Billy Bob Thornton (Skin Tight, Maple Leaf) has also agreed to star in the film. He will play an East Coast criminal with sights on exploiting the local Indian Reservation for his crime enterprises. Michael Madsen (After, The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth) will also reportedly join the film as a crooked local sheriff. The film will be directed by Sterlin Harjo ("Reservation Dogs", Mekko) and written by first-time collaborators Jimmy Ellis (Death of the Artist, The World: Done to Death) and Dwight Gallo (X-Men: The Cure, Cocaine Cowboys).
Tough Girl: Saoirse Ronan (Resident Evil 3, Scion 3) has signed on to star in the latest directorial effort from writer Alex Conn (Drugstore Perfume, Oh Johnny Boy). She will play a college art student navigating school and romance. Alex Conn regular Alex Wolff (That Was Then, This Is Now, Corndog) has also signed on to the film as Ronan's love interest.
Mexican Gothic: Ana de Armas (Spider-Man, Kansas City), George MacKay (Antarctica, Excalibur), Tom Hiddleston (Purgatorio, Ghost Stories) and Eiza Gonzalez (The Fall Guy, White Tiger) are set to star in a new film from Guillermo del Toro (The Mutation, Nexus) based on the novel Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. The gothic horror tales centers on a young woman investigating her cousin's claims that her husband is trying to murder her. de Armas will play the main character, Gonzalez will play the cousin, Hiddleston will play her English husband, while MacKay will play Hiddleston's own cousin. The adaptation has been written by Rene Menzie (Lock Every Door).
