My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man!: Tucker Albrizzi (Monster Trucks, "A.P. Bio"), Charlie Day (Constantine: The Hellblazer, Lucky Luke and Billy the Kid) and Sophia Lillis (Girl in the Fog, Stained) will round out the cast of the obscenely long-titled My Musical Adventure in Another World as an Old Man! from writers Chad Taylor and Meirad Tako and director Taika Waititi.
Red Wolf: Rounding out the cast of the latest Marvel Comics adaptation will be Grace Dove (How It Ends, The Revenant), Michael Horse (The Call of the Wild, "Twin Peaks: The Return), Irene Bedard (Songs My Brothers Taught Me, "The Stand") and Kim Coates ("Sons of Anarchy", Officer Downe). Dove will play a love interest to the title character (played by Tatanka Means). Horse will play the local Native Chief, who is also Means' father. Bedard will play Means' mother, while Coates will play the villain's primary henchman. Sterlin Harjo directs from a script by Dwight Gallo and Jimmy Ellis.
Tough Girl: Ellar Coltrane (Suburban, The Tournament), Beanie Feldstein (High School, "Impeachment: American Crime Story") and Jamey Sheridan (Driven, Sully) have signed on to appear in Tough Girl, the latest directorial effort from writer Alex Conn. Sheridan will play the father of the main character, played by Saoirse Ronan, while Coltrane and Feldstein will play her friends.
Mexican Gothic: Charles Dance (La Resistance, Village of Madness), Toni Collette (Knives Out, Velvet Buzzsaw), Jonathan Pryce (Batman: Arkham, The Wonder) and Diego Luna (The Lone Gunman, Tail) will join the latest film from Guillermo del Toro. Dance will play the father of the character previously announced to be played by Tom Hiddleston. Collete will play the mother of George MacKay's character. Pryce and Luna will both play doctors in the film. This adaptation from Rene Menzie is based on the novel of the same name by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
Odysseus Part One: Michael Fassbender (Recursion, Ubik) has signed on to star in an epic two-part adaptation of the Greek myth of Odysseus, based on The Odyssey by Homer. Fassbender will play the title character, the King of Ithaca, who goes on an epic adventure following the Trojan War. Jessica Chastain (Painkiller Jane, Mr. Big), Tom Holland (Tail, That Was Then, This Is Now) and Rachel Weisz (Prodigy, Blind Faith) will also appear in the film. Chastain will play Odysseus' wife, Holland will play their son, while Weisz will play Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. Ridley Scott (Pirate Latitudes, The Last Duel) will direct the epic based on a script by Andrew Doster (The Curse of Janara, The Brilliant Friend).
Whaling: Paul Giamatti (Life After Life, Stained) and Colin Farrell (Pulp, Justice League Dark) have signed on to star in the 1960s Hollywood drama, Whaling, from director Noah Baumbach (A Reputation, Marriage Story) and writer Wyatt Allen (Antarctica, An Eye For An Eye). Giamatti will play a filmmaker who aims to make an epic adaptation of Moby Dick, while Farrell will play the difficult movie star he's forced to cast as the lead.
