Gossip Rag (Season 25)

In this segment, we will delve into the inside dirt on some of the latest and upcoming LRF releases and the studio's stars....

Gabrielle Union
The actress, who plays the ex-wife of Dwayne Johnson in both The Fall Guy films, was reportedly unhappy with her lessened role and screentime in the sequel - especially in comparison to the other actresses in the film, namely Eiza Gonzalez and Olivia Munn. More than the lack of screentime though, Union was upset that she did not get as much of a salary increase as most other returning cast members received. Her reps claim she is undecided about returning for a third film - that's off the record, of course.

Gina Carano
When Ari Aster signed on to direct Krueger, he had one demand: fire Gina Carano. The actress was originally attached to play the role of Freddy Krueger's wife in the film at the request of writer Joshua Collins, but Aster refused to work with Carano due to their difference in politics. The role ended up going to Mia Wasikowska.

George Miller
Director George Miller was recently announced as the director of the big-budget fantasy adventure film, Troll Mountain. According to studio insiders, the film has reportedly already gone over budget by over $25 million (with some sources putting the figure closer to $50 million). This has led to tension and conflict between the filmmaker and studio representatives that have been monitoring the situation from the set in Vancouver, Canada.

Dwayne Johnson
Hot off the box office success of The Fall Guy: Trouble in Tahiti, Dwayne Johnson reportedly demanded top billing over Billy Magnussen for his upcoming role in Kazaria: Burns of the Lavita. The studio sided with Magnussen however. Through negotiations with Johnson's management team, the actor finally agreed to be second billed (but on the same level/height on the poster) in the credits - for an extra $5 million. The studio agreed to pay the increased fee, bringing Johnson's salary for the film up into the range of $25 million.

Seth MacFarlane
Seth MacFarlane is reportedly set to star as Robert Ripley in an upcoming biopic later this season. Steven Spielberg, Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and Ben Stiller were all considered for the director's chair on the project - that is until MacFarlane made it clear to the studio that he would only agree to star in the film if he could direct it as well.
