3. Best Actress Race
While there haven't been a ton of award contenders so far this season, at least it doesn't seem like it will be another super weak Best Actress race. So far there have been multiple legitimate Best Actress contenders: Madelaine Pestch in Batgirl, Katherine Langford in Skin, Margot Robbie in Man Made Machine, Julia Roberts in Malik, and now Saoirse Ronan in The Driftwood Populace.
2. Second Half of Season 25
I'm guessing that this season will be much like some earlier seasons where the bulk of the GRA nominees are second half films. So far there haven't even been any "Must See" films, but that just means things can only go up from here.
1. The Sandman: Season of Mists
Chad Taylor once again does a really good job of translating the Sandman comics into a mostly easy to digest film. Depp once again did a good job as Dream, although he felt a bit more overshadowed by the massive number of new cast members (especially Jonny Lee Miller's Lucifer).
3. Wes Anderson
I actually didn't hate The Driftwood Populace. I think the film's box office was hurt though by Wes Anderson's films becoming almost a parody of his own work. The script for The Driftwood Populace mostly threaded the quirky needle well, but I think Anderson (especially after The French Dispatch) has worn out some of his welcome with audiences.
2. Letters
Talk about a horror film that takes too long to give the audience any kind of payoff to its premise. The story in Letters feels like the first 30-45 minutes of a bigger story - far too incomplete feeling.
1. Box Office
It's never good for a round to end up the red after the three releases. Even The Sandman 2's decent box office wasn't enough to make up for the loses of Letters and The Driftwood Populace.
It was a prett
