Tom Hanks is about to appear in his second Stephen King adaptation, the highly-anticipated Revival. In this edition of Resume, we will look at the filmography of this Hollywood legend....

Tom Hanks made his LRF debut in the studio's inaugural season playing US President Harry Truman in a film about the dropping of a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan in World War II. The film was well-received by critics with a Metascore of 82, but only managed one GRA nomination. Financially, the film was another successful collaboration between Hanks and director Steven Spielberg.



Season 11

After 10 seasons away, Tom Hanks returned to LRF as the villain in the long-in-the-works video game adaptation, Bioshock. The film flopped with critics and at the box office alike.

One season later, Hanks returned with another villainous performance. This time the film was much better received, with Hanks even being nominated for Best Villain at that season's GRA ceremony.

After several seasons off, Hanks returned with a busy Season 17. First up was his role opposite Tom Cruise in The King of Hearts. They played rival heart surgeons in the film. The film won 5 GRA trophies in Season 17, including Best Picture and two trophies for Hanks: Best Supporting Actor and Best Starring Couple.

Next up in Season 17 for Hanks was a small but pivotal role in the Marvel Universe film, Namor the Sub-Mariner. He played the title characters long-missing human father. The film was a smash success, with it becoming a rare superhero project to secure a Best Picture nomination at the GRA ceremony.



Up Next: Hanks doesn't have a ton of work lined up yet in the immediate future, although he is expected to appear in a future sequel to Namor the Sub-Mariner.
