Reaction: The first Kazaria film only managed a small profit, so adding big name talents like Johnson and Cena into the cast for this sequel looks like it simply increased the budget past the point where a Kazaria sequel could realistically still make a profit.
"I gotta admit, I wasn't a big fan of the previous film. After seeing the sequel, my feelings haven't changed much though I liked this entry a little more. Kazaria: Burns of the Lavita continues building its world while enjoying it. The cast does their jobs performing along with del Toro's unique style. That said, it doesn't at the end make me look forward to the next one (if it's in the cards)." - Desmond Rogers, TIME Magazine
"Kazaria: Burns of Lavita took a while to get going, but once it did I found myself engrossed. The world building is still good, and I found the story more engaging then the last. It focused less on the politics on more on the people. I commend Writer Jacob Jones on listening to critics of the first film." - Francis McLaughlin, The Guardian
"Director Guillermo del Toro and writer Jacob Jones are just never able to do enough to distinguish the world they've created from the multitude of other vaguely sci-fi/fantasy-esque projects in recent years. The script for Burns of the Lavita clearly tries to course correct after a boring first film, but it felt like too little, too late." - Katie Barnes,
Washington Herald
Rated PG-13 for violence and peril
