Reaction: A step up from the first film, The Punisher: Last Exit managed to turn an even bigger profit despite a larger budget than the first time around.

"In what is another strong script from Dwight Gallo, Mel Gibson once more comes to town with his portrayal of Frank Castle. The tormented anger that he displays is still unmatchable in today's comic book films. Although the story itself may have been seen before the pacing, and dialogue of the scenes help it stand out from anything similar. Perhaps not as good as the first, but still better then most things coming out now." - J. Johnson, DailyMovieNews.com

"The Punisher: Last Exit features the crime-fighting and brutal violence we all expect from the property, but like the first film, the script from Dwight Gallo and the lead performance from Mel Gibson bring a strong sense of emotion to the proceedings. While this sequel didn't quite have as good of a villain as Jodie Foster in the first film, it does manage to make The Punisher feel more human due to his relationship with Raffey Cassidy's character (in a breakout performance)." - Dave Manning, The Ridgefield Press

"Mel Gibson once again shows how perfect he is as Frank Castle with another intense and emotional performance. This time around he is joined in a major role by Raffey Cassidy, who gives a very vulnerable performance as a young woman Castle seeks to help. S. Craig Zahler is the unsung hero of these films, giving the film a gritty visual focus. As for the music, the soundtrack to this one is even better than the GRA winning playlist of the first entry." - Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune

Rated R for bloody violence, language, thematic material and sexual content
