Fractus: Regina King (Artemis, Hillside), Keke Palmer (Sam, Zoe's Vegas) and Jared Keeso ("Shoresy", "Letterkenny") have joined the gritty Aldis Hodge-led wrestling drama, Fractus. King will play Hodge's mother, Palmer will play Hodge's love interest, while Keeso will play a fellow wrestler. Shaka King directs from a script by Mo Buck and Jimmy Ellis.
Wonder Bean: Robert Zemeckis' apocalyptic sci-fi film, Wonder Bean, has added Willem Dafoe (Watch Dogs, Days Without End), Ed Harris (Artemis, The Void) and Bob Odenkirk (Unknown, The Betrothed) to its cast. Dafoe will play a villain, Harris will play a war veteran and Odenkirk will play the robotic creator. Sammy-Jo Ellis penned the film.
Red Queen: The latest attempt at a new YA franchise, Red Queen, has announced that casting of Montana Jordan ("Young Sheldon", The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter) as a friend of the main character, Sophie Nelisse (Amityville, "Yellowjackets") as a member of the Scarlet Guard, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Atlantis, Halo 6) as the main character's mentor amd Ebon Moss-Bachrach ("The Bear", No Hard Feelings) as a king. Niki Caro is directing the film, which is based on the novel by Victoria Aveyard. Abbie Q penned the adaptation.
Klitih: A Way of Life: Writer Meirad Tako (Something and/or Nothing, Police Story: Brother) has a new directorial effort on the way with Klitih: A Way of Life. The film tells the story of a young man in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, who becomes part of a street crimes in his home town. Bryan Domani (172 Days, Sin) will play the main character, while Tio Pakusadewo (Java Heat, The Raid 2) will play his father.
Tara's World: Victoria Pedretti (Under the Influence, Tara's Web) has officially inked a deal to return as Tara Maritato in a sequel to Tara's Web. In this film, she has found herself in a business arrangement with James, played by Grant Gustin (Drake, Attraction/Deception), to start an exotic night club. Lynne Ramsay (Rock Paper Scissors, Tara's Web) is back to direct, once again from a script by Jacob Jones (Acapella, Connected).
Deathstroke: Jean-Claude Van Damme (Wolfenstein, Nexus) is back as Salde Wilson aka Deathstroke, following his cameo debut in Batman: Knightfall. This film will show what happens after his escape from Pena Duro as he tracks down the people responsible for putting him behind bars for 17 years. Mickey Rourke (Mass Effect 3 - Part 2, Mona Lisa) has also signed onto the film, play the villain W.R. Wintergreen. Former A-List action director John McTiernan (Predator, Die Hard) has been hired to direct the film - his first film in over 20 years, following his 2013 imprisonment for illegal wiretapping. APJ (The Champ, Batman: Knightfall) and Jimmy Ellis (Thorne, The Final Will) penned the R-Rated DC Comics Universe production.
