Welcome to the 14th Official Last Resort Films Comic-Con! This season, we have exclusive news and behind-the-scenes information on five upcoming LRF releases for Season 30....
Round 2 - Amnesiac
The first superhero film of Season 30 will be Amnesiac, a rare original superhero project. Most of the cast has already been announced, so we have the final poster for the film. The poster features the first look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Broadway, Stepford) as the main character, a vigilante known as The Man in Blue. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, Bad Times at the El Royale) helms the film from a script by the one and only Jack Ryder (Bravo/Samurai, The ComeBack).
The DC Comics character Deathstroke made his LRF debut a few seasons back in a cameo appearance in Batman: Knight as played by Jean-Claude Van Damme (Wolfenstein, Nexus). Now JCVD will be back to star in a gritty solo film for the character set following the events in Knightfall. No word yet on the behind the scenes crew, but the film is looking to be just the second R-rated DC Comics Universe production. For this Comic-Con panel, we have the first look at the film's poster.
Round 6 - Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Power
He-Man made his first (and only) LRF appearance in Masters of the Universe all the way back in Season 4. Now He-Man and the rest of the Masters of the Universe are finally set to return in a sequel. The film has been titled Masters of the Universe: The Sword of Power and will feature the live-action film debut of He-Man's sister, the character of Princess Adora aka She-Ra. If that wasn't big enough news, we also have the exclusive news that Samara Weaving (Vampire, Namor the Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex) has been cast in the role.
Round 7 - Tarzan
Jason Momoa (Ranger, The Fall Guy) is set to return to LRF screens for the first time since Season 14 now that he has been cast in the title role in a new Tarzan film for the studio. The jungle adventure film has been written by DC Comics Universe maestro APJ (The Champ, Batman: Knightfall).
Round 8 - X-Men: Hellfire
In the back half of Season 30, the X-Men will return for their fourth LRF entry, X-Men: Hellfire. Much of the usual cast is expected to return, but the big news came when the director of the first three films, Alex Garland, announced that he is done directing films. With that came the announcement from writer Dwight Gallo (AKA Billy the Kid, The Punisher: Last Exit) that the search for a new director was underway. The search has been completed and Miguel Sapochnik (Skyrim, Finch) has been set to direct. In addition to that news, we also have a first look at the poster for the film.
Round 10 - Justice League Invasion
Season 30 means that the third Justice League entry in LRF's DC Comics Universe is set for release as the final entry of the season. For a Comic-Con exclusive, we can now announce that Giancarlo Esposito (The Void, The Lone Gunman) has been cast as the film's villain, Darkseid. With the film getting ready for pre-production, there are also rumors that the film could become a two-parter with the second part released in Season 31. Only time will tell if the rumors are true though.
