This season, I'll be doing a Top 3 and a Bottom 3, instead of a Top 5 and a Bottom 5, for each round to keep people like Jack Ryder from whining that there's not enough variety. If you don't like the change, tell him to stop whining about me using multiple points to cover Bradley Cooper (yet he doesn't complain about multiple [positive] mentions for his films). Not sure why that drew his ire so much, there were multiple things to cover regarding him that round. Oh well, fuck it. Here's the first Roundup of Season 7...
3. Emile Hirsch
I've always been such a big fan of this young actor's work. I understand he had some legal issues, but now that that's all in the past he looks primed for a big comeback. His charm added a lot to 2060. If we were stuck with two actors like Richard Madden, the film would have been unwatchable.
2. Halo 3
The Halo movies just keep getting better with each entry with Mo Buck writing them. The first one established the setting and all, but didn't get very in-depth. Once Buck took over, things really took off story-wise.
1. Joaquin Phoenix
What can I say about Joaquin Phoenix? Despite his role in Trip being fairly small, he accepted the thankless challenge of appearing as the great Jerry Garcia in the latest Chad Taylor-written drama.
3. Marc Forster
How can a director's films vary so greatly in quality? You'd think by now in his career, you would know what to expect when you hire him, but you'd be wrong. How can one person be capable of quality films like Monster's Ball and Finding Neverland also be capable of piss-poor films like All I See Is You and Machine Gun Preacher? Is Marc Forster secretly two different directors (one of whom sucks)?
2. Richard Madden
This guy has no charisma whatsoever. He's handsome and he's British. I suppose that's all one really needs to succeed in the film industry.
1. Olivia Cooke
Who decided she's a young star worth casting? She was a complete zero in Spielberg's Ready Player One (don't get me started on that one...) and now she whines her way through Trip. She always looks so sad. Lighten up, sweetheart. Don't you know you're the latest young star to get inexplicably cast in a bunch of movies?
