Eileen: Some more high-profile actors have joined Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway in Gavin O'Connor's latest film, Eileen. Nicolas Cage (Happy Nuke Year, Mandy) has signed on as Lawrence's father, while Frances McDormand (Amelie, Libra) will play the mother of one of the inmates at the prison the girls work at. Joe Alwyn (Mary Queen of Scots, The Favourite) will play that inmate. The film was written by T.F.W. Hallowayne.
Ghost Town: Chad Taylor and Barry Jenkins' film about the lives of the residents of Cairo, Illinois, has added Kelly Macdonald (T2 Trainspotting, Holmes & Watson), Andre Holland ("Castle Rock", Moonlight), Brian Tyree Henry ("Atlanta", Widows) and Octavia Spencer (Obsession, Lullabies for Little Criminals) to the cast. Holland will play Kiersey Clemon's older brother, while Macdonald will play his single mother girlfriend. Henry will play a man suspected of murder in the 1909 section of the film. Spencer will play a woman in the 1967 section.
A Little Life: Craig T. Nelson (Nocturne, "Parenthood"), Ellen Burstyn (Heavy Rain, The Hazel Wood), Alan Cumming (Battle of the Sexes, "The Good Wife") and Paul Bettany (Life After Life, Cleopatra) will round out Anton Corbijn's adaptation of the novel A Little Life. Nelson will play a former college professor of Cillian Murphy's, Burstyn will play Nelson's wife, Bettany will play a doctor, while Cumming will play a failed romantic partner of Murphy's. H.G. Hansen wrote the script.
Metamorpho: The next DC Comics superhero film, Metamorpho, has hired Rory McCann (Sweet Tooth, "Game of Thrones"), Michael Rooker (Sweet Tooth, Eclipse), Gary Cole (Heavy Rain, "Fam") and Amr Waked (The Story of the Assassin, "Jack Ryan") to round out its primary cast. McCann will play the simple henchman Java, Rooker will play Simon Stagg's (Hugo Weaving) bitter former assistant, Cole will play criminal scientist Maxwell Tremaine, and Waked will play an Egyptian pharoah in a flashback sequence. Scott Derrickson is directing the film from a script by Dominic Wilkins.
Story of Sade: Judd Apatow's upcoming comedy has added Charlotte McKinney (Baywatch, Mad Families), Trisha Paytas (Water & Power, Wanderlust), Nathan Kress (Into the Storm) and comedian Arsenio Hall (Black Dynamite) to the cast. McKinney and Paytas will play members of the house Tiffany Haddish's character moves in to. Kress will play a man who goes on a date with McKinney, while Hall will play Haddish's father. Jacob Jones wrote the script.
Haute Couture: Fresh off the success of Uncharted 2, Brie Larson (Uncharted 2, Heart of Stone) will re-team with Jean-Marc Vallee (Decrescendo, Heart of Stone) for a drama about the fashion industry. She will play an insecure model working in the industry. Larson will be joined by Emma Stone ("Maniac", The Favourite), Al Pacino (Mr. Big, A View from the Bridge) and Sacha Baron Cohen (Alice Through the Looking Glass, Grimsby). Cohen will play an eccentric stylist, Pacino will play a famed fashion designer, while Stone will play another model. James Morgan (Spark of Madness, Mr. Big) and Ann Morrow (Decrescendo, Spark of Madness) have teamed to write the script for this one.
