Reaction: Fantastic numbers for this costly fantasy epic. Surely this is the start of yet another franchise for the studio. In fact, plans for sequels and spin-offs were already put into place in case this film was a success.

"I was disappointed by the seeming lack of a big climax - the film seems to be angling toward a sequel more than being content with its own story. That said, the special effects are top notch and the talented cast does what they can with the characters they are given." - Clark Davis, JoBlo.com

"Arguably the most ambitious fantasy epic since Peter Jackson directed The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Skyrim is quite the endeavor. It doesn't have the most distinct look, but it makes up for it in the shear scale of the action depicted." - Chris Price, Boston Herald

"One of the most difficult things about adapting a video game into a film is imbuing what was the player character with enough of a personality. Unfortunately, Skyrim does not succeed in this challenge, with Chris Hemsworth really not being given much to work with from a character perspective. A film can overcome a lot, but a main character that doesn't work generally is not one of those things." - Jon Farrell, Hollywood Reporter

Rated PG-13 for intense fantasy violence.
