Someone Else: Dean Norris (Plastic Man, The Hustle), Angela Lansbury (Mary Poppins Returns, Mr. Popper's Penguins), Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiasm", Clear History) and Oliver Platt (Alan Wake, Spawn 2: Payback) have all joined the ensemble cast of Someone Else, from writer Mo Buck and director Tom Ford. Norris will play a friend of Michael Stuhlbarg, Lansbury will play a woman who hires a private detective to spy on her husband played by David, while Platt is set to play Stuhlbarg's boss.
Genetic Descent: Aeriel Miranda (A Madea Family Reunion, Straight Outta Compton), Lakeith Stanfield (To the Moon, Sorry to Bother You) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Ypsilanti, The Hazel Wood) have been hired to round out the cast of the upcoming original drama, Genetic Descent, from director Nia DaCosta and writer Jimmy Ellis.
Mass Effect 3 - Part 2: Simon Pegg (Bright Neon Lights, Mass Effect 2), Jennifer Garner (Peppermint, Mass Effect: The Shadow Broker), August Maturo ("Girl Meets World", The Nun) and Martin Sheen (Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect: Cerberus) have all signed on to appear in the epic sci-fi film, Mass Effect 3 - Part 2. Pegg, Garner and Sheen will reprise roles they portrayed in previous films, while Maturo will play a younger version of Commander Shepard.
A Following: Edie Falco (Paradiso, "Nurse Jackie"), Stephan James (Tenth Circle, Mr. Big), James Remar (Rocket Red, "Miami Vice") and Daniel Stern ("Hype", Game Over Man!) have joined Armie Hammer, Madison Iseman and Kirsten Dunst in Cory Finley's new drama A Following. Falco will play Iseman's mother, Remar will play the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, and James will play a football player. Stern's role has yet to be disclosed. Mo Buck and Chad Taylor teamed up to pen the film.
Batman: Arkham: Following the massive success of Batman: Caped Crusader, a third Batman film is entering production with Jake Gyllenhaal (Torso, Blackbird), Bryan Cranston (7 Days, Uncharted 2), Madelaine Petsch (Batman: Caped Crusader, Ranger) and Jonathan Pryce (Batman: Caped Crusader, The Dead Zone) all returning to the series for the third time. Gyllenhaal plays Bruce Wayne/Batman, Cranston plays Gotham police Captain Jim Gordon, Petsch plays his daughter Barbara Gordon, and Pryce plays Wayne's butler and confidant Alfred. The plot of the film is being under wraps currently, but Joseph Kosinski (Only the Brave, Batman: Caped Crusader) will once again direct from a script by APJ (Swamp Thing, Uncharted 2).
Tales of Skyrim: Stormcloak: The Skyrim series is set to join Halo and Mass Effect as the latest video game turned film franchise to feature spin-off films. This spin-off is set to star Russell Crowe (Blind Faith, Kite) and Sean Bean (Skyrim, Blood Countess) as the characters they played in the first Skyrim film. Chris Weitz (Operation Finale, A Better Life) has signed on to direct the film from a script by Harry Wright (Spawn 2: Payback, Rocket Red).
