3. Ben Stiller
I was not a huge fan of The Powerpuff Girls, granted I have never seen the animated series, but I did enjoy Ben Stiller in the film. It’s crazy to think that it took 13 seasons for Ben Stiller to make his LRF debut.
2. Jacob Jones
I was impressed with how ambitious Accordion De Chanson was. It was probably too ambitious to be honest (with it getting a bit too long for my liking), but it was a noble and creative effort from Jacob Jones.
1. Bright Neon Lights
Easily my favorite film of the round. I found the humor to be pretty effective, especially Ryan Reynolds’ character, although I do wonder why they had drama as a sub-genre since the film didn’t have much in the way of drama.
3. Jordan Peele
His work as a director has leaned in the direction of horror, so despite his acting work being comedic, he doesn’t seem like a great fit as the helmer of this crime farce.
2. The Powerpuff Girls
Like I said above, I’m not at all familiar with the animated series, so I was probably not the audience for this one. The casting between the kids to adults seemed a bit iffy (especially Millie Bobby Brown growing into Ellen Page since Brown appears to already be a good deal taller than Page). And I’m not exactly the most PC person in the world, but I imagine some folks are going to have a field day with Justin Theroux’s character.
1. Box Office
Up until now it has been a pretty good season at the box office (especially with huge hits like Skyrim II: Dragonborn, Halo 5 and God of War: Kratos), but this was a pretty rough round at the box office. The three films released this round combined lost over $112 million at the box office.
