It's crazy to think that we're already nearly halfway through our 13th season. Here's The Roundup....
3. Brad Pitt
Pitt hasn't worked for the studio a whole lot, but every film he's starred in for LRF has been of very high quality. He's starred in four films for the studio (White Jazz, Shogun, Hands on a Hard Body and Hex) with an average Metascore of 78.25.
2. Teslin, Yukon
James Morgan crafted a very strong story for this one and anchored it with a top-notch ensemble cast. I can definitely see this one being in the running for some Golden Reed Awards come the end of the season (especially in the supporting categories).
1. Hex
For the 23rd film in the DC Comics Universe, we finally have a film not starring a superhero or masked crime-fighter. Hex was a very fun action-packed western with a great Brad Pitt performance at the center.
3. Teslin, Yukon
I honestly only have one gripe with the film and that is the choice of director. I think a director with a more distinctive vision could have elevated the film to more greatness. From what I've seen of Dunn's previous work (2016's Closet Monster), he doesn't feel like the strongest fit to the material.
2. Dragon Ball: The Wrath of the Demon King
The film wasn't terrible by any means (although I would argue the film's full title is terrible), but it's not particularly my cup of tea, and I found the film's casting to be mostly uninspired.
1. Box Office
I was hoping Teslin, Yukon and Hex would have done better. I know Teslin, Yukon is a hard sell at the cinema, but it would have been nice to see it do better. Hex, on the other hand, managed a solid little profit, but I feel like it should have been a bigger hit.
