Born in Brooklyn: Rounding out the cast of Ben Affleck's first LRF directorial effort will be Sadie Sink (Red Sonja, "Stranger Things"), Thomas Barbusca (Searching, Big Time Adolescence), John Carroll Lynch (Doctor Love, Cascade) and Noah Centineo (Kite, Charlie's Angels). Sink and Barbusca will play two siblings in the Brooklyn neighborhood setting. John Carroll Lynch will play Mackenzie Foy's father, while Centineo will play the cocky son of a neighborhood mobster. Ben Affleck directs from a script by Dwight Gallo.
Y: The Last Man: Coming off of her Best Actress GVA award for her role on "Rolling Stone", Aimee Teegarden ("Rolling Stone", "Friday Night Lights") has joined the comic adaptation, Y: The Last Man. She will play a potential love interest of Jack Reynor's Yorick. Also joining the film will be Elizabeth Henstridge (Marvelous, "Agents of SHIELD"), Svetlana Khodchenkova (The Wolverine, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Lauren Ambrose (Jersey Devil, "Servant"). Henstridge will play a former model, Khodchenkova will play a Russian immigrant, and Ambrose will play an astronaut. Ana Lily Amirpour is directing the film based on the adaptation by Matt Parker.
Sabbatical Recovery: Kate McKinnon (Before You Help, "Saturday Night Live") and Noah Wyle (Shot, Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House) have joined Tobey Magure, Kirsten Dunst and Jason Bateman in the drama/comedy from director Mike Mills. Wyle will play Bateman's brother, while McKinnon has been cast as a doctor. H.G. Hansen penned the script to the film.
The Great Beyond: Amy Adams (Revolution, The Raven in the Night), Idris Elba (Spawn 2: Payback, Ghost Town) and John Cho (Cascade, Searching) have signed on to star in the sci-fi drama The Great Beyond. The film tells the story of a group of astronauts stationed on the International Space Station when disaster strikes back on Earth. Ang Lee (Gemini Man, The Secret History) is directing the project from a script by Jimmy Ellis (The Devil's Passage, Black Lightning) and Chad Taylor (The Fall Guy, The Young Pretender).
Harrelson: Speaking of writing collaborations, the upcoming schedule will see another first time writing duo tackle a script together. This time it will be Mo Buck (Germinal, Captain Atom 2) and D.R. Cobb (Splinter Cell: Blacklist, "Rolling Stone"). They have penned Harrelson, which tells the story of career criminal Charles Harrelson. Stephen Dorff (The Raid, "Rolling Stone"), Giovanni Ribisi (The Devil in the White City, The Bad Batch) and David Strathairn (Cape Torment, Femme Fatale) have all signed on to appear in the film. Dorff will play Charles Harrles in the film, while Ribisi will play a partner in crime and Strathairn will play a defense attorney. David Mackenzie (Outlaw King, Hell or High Water) has signed on to direct the true crime film.
The Arrival: Melissa Benoist (Swim Through the Darkness, Without Remorse), Neil Patrick Harris (Standing Back, "A Series of Unfortunate Events") and Michael Sheen (Mass Effect: First Contact, Decrescendo) have signed on to star in the horror film, The Arrival, about a small town taken over by evil. David F. Sandberg (Shazam!, Annabelle: Creation) has signed on to direct the film. The script was written by Jack Slipter (Girl in the Fog, Before and After), based on the 1973 film Messiah of Evil.
