Box office was a-plenty this round, but I'll still find something to complain about. So once again, here's The Roundup....
3. Red Sonja
I was surprised by the quality of Red Sonja (mostly because I remember the terrible Bridgette Nielsen-led original adaptation of the character). This film takes a strong, grounded approach, and gives Karen Gillan a character she can sink her talented teeth into.
2. The Fall Guy
I'm a big fan of a good action film - and The Fall Guy is a good action film. The film feels tailor made for a talent like Dwayne Johnson, who delivered a charismatic performance in the film.
1. Box Office
This was easily one of the most consistently strong box office rounds in recent memory. Every film was a decent hit at the box office, so while it lacked a record breaking hit, the studio racked up quite the box office numbers between the three films.
3. Jason Momoa
He just felt like too much of a likable, charismatic presence to pull off the role of the lead villain in The Fall Guy. It was a bit distracting, but it was still only a minor distraction.
2. Elijah Wood
Once again, Wood is cast in a voice role that doesn't really deliver anything interesting. He clearly has some fans in the LRF community, but none of them have figured out how to successfully utilize Wood.
1. Oh Deer
I definitely wasn't the target audience for this kiddy film. Based on the box office, there is clearly an audience for the film, but I am not one of them.
