Resume: Ben Foster

Ben Foster has made a steady career in LRF, balancing supporting roles in mega-blockbusters with roles in smaller films, like his work in the upcoming MMA drama Fractured. His work with the studio stretches back to Season 4. For the latest edition of Resume, we will take a look at the filmography of this ever-dependable performer....

Ben Foster made his LRF debut with the first appearance of Thel'Vadamee in the Halo series. The film was obviously a major hit at the box office, but not much was said of Foster's motion capture performance.

Season 5

Later in Season 5, Foster played the major antagonistic role of Albert Wesker in the first Resident Evil film. The film was a success at the box office, managing a small profit even though the reviews were not kind.

Season 7
Halo 3
Director: Gareth Edwards
Writer: Carl Flimmer

Budget: $225,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $333,084,120
Foreign Box Office: $420,001,104
Total Profit: $440,755,108

After a season away, Foster reprised the role of Thel'Vadamee. Like Halo 2, this sequel was a huge hit at the box office, paving way for more films in the series.

Season 13
Halo 5
Director: Gareth Edwards
Writer: Mo Buck

Budget: $250,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $481,557,382
Foreign Box Office: $600,115,098
Total Profit: $402,448,192

Foster took five seasons away, but came back as Thel'Vadamee in Halo 5. The film was the first in the Halo series to cross the $1 billion mark at the world wide box office.

Season 15
Halo 6
Director: David Yates
Writer: Mo Buck

Budget: $276,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $424,498,888
Foreign Box Office: $610,920,004
Total Profit: $314,444,100

Foster continued cashing his supporting role of Thel'Vadamee in Halo 6 just two seasons after his appearance in Halo 5. Profits were a bit down for this mega-budgeted film, the second most expensive film made by the studio.

Kurt & Courtney: All Apologies
Director: David Robert Mitchell

Budget: $29,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $62,775,231
Foreign Box Office: $29,045,111

Ben Foster then won his first Golden Reel Award for Best Actor for his highly-acclaimed performance as the doomed grunge rocker Kurt Cobain in this biopic. He also secured a GRA trophy along with his co-star Riley Keough for Best Starring Couple.

Season 16
The Flash
Director: Jonathan Levine
Writer: Giovanni Garcia

Budget: $154,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $177,449,831
Foreign Box Office: $200,023,097
Total Profit: $71,105,006

Hot off of his GRA wins, Foster appeared as the main villain, Heat Wave, in the Flash's debut in the DC Comics Universe. Foster's performance was well-received and the film was a success at the box office.

Up Next: While The Flash does not yet have a sequel in development, Foster's contract includes other DC Comics Universe appearances, so it is likely we will see him again at some point. Same with the Resident Evil series. He doesn't appear in the third film, but he would reportedly be in a fourth film if it gets there.
