In Development

No Laughing Matter: Timothy Simons (The Hustle, "Veep"), Harvey Keitel (And the Birds Rained Down, The Irishman) and Bruce Campbell ("Drive", Eleanor & Park) will round out the cast of the Coen Brothers' latest dark comedy, No Laughing Matter. Simons will play an obnoxious aspiring electronic country musician, Keitel will play a legally blind hitman, while Campbell will play the husband of Marisa Tomei's character. Chad Taylor penned the original screenplay.

Zatanna: David Strathairn (Revelations, Harrelson), Monica Bellucci (Spectre, The Best Years of a Life) and Noomi Rapace (Steins Gate, The Hunt) have joined the latest DC COmics Universe film, Zatanna. Strathairn will play the father of the title character, Bellucci will play Madame Xanadu, while Rapace will play a villainous sorceress in the supernatural superhero project. Niki Caro is directing from a script by APJ.

Alien: Out of the Shadows: As soon as she complete her work on Zatanna, Aubrey Plaza (Drugstore Perfume, Buried Memories) will start work on the latest Alien anthology film, Alien: Out of the Shadows. Also joining the ensemble cast of the film will be Emily VanCamp (Parasite, "The Resident"), Jai Courtney (Eclipse, Suicide Squad) and Jon Bernthal (B.R.I.G.A.N.D.S., Tenth Circle). Carl Flimmer is back to write the film which will be directed by Rupert Wyatt.

A Life: Olivia Wilde (Someone Else, V), Allison Janney (Crush, Bunker 17) and Matt Bomer (Days Without End, Pudd'nhead Wilson) have joined the Ang Lee-directed drama A Life. Wilde will play the wife of Jesse Eisenberg's character, Janney will play Eisenberg's boss, while Bomer will play a Broadway actor. Alex Conn wrote the script.

The King of Hearts: Holly Hunter (Hands on a Hard Body, The Big Sick), Kate Hudson (Deepwater Horizon, Mother's Day) and Gael Garcia Bernal (Wasp Network, It Must Be Heaven) have joined the Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks starring medical drama from director Bennett Miller. Hunter will play Hanks' wife, Hudson will play Cruise's wife, while Bernal will play a bright young surgeon from Argentina. Chad Taylor penned the film.
