Plot: Gina Bad Horse (Tantoo Cardinal) arrives at Leavenworth Federal Prison in Kansas to visit Lawrence Belcourt (Graham Greene), her fellow Dog Soldier who has been in prison for the murder of the FBI agent for all these years. He explains that he is pleasantly surprised to see her as he doesn't really have much contact with the other former Dog Soldiers outside of the occasional talk or letter with Lincoln Red Crow. This revelation surprises Gina, and Lawrence explains that Red Crow pays for him to be protected in the prison by one of the black gangs. Gina breaks down crying, profusely apologizing for never really trying to get him out of prison. Lawrence admits that it was hard for a while to be behind bars for a crime he only witnessed, but he has now accepted it as his lot in life. Gina laments that if she had the courage to pull the trigger herself all those years ago, everything could have turned out differently for them.
Chief Lincoln Red Crow (Wes Studi) receives a phone call in his office while Dino Poor Bear (Kiowa Gordon) is cleaning up all the dog blood. On the phone is Johnny Tongue (Jason Scott Lee), a notorious Minnesota Hmong gangster who has helped Red Crow finance the Crazy Horse Casino. Johnny mentions that he has already begun to hear some troubling news about what has been going on at the new casino. Red Crow tries to reassure Johnny that everything is already fine, but Johnny tells him that he is going to send one of his best men, Mr. Brass, down to the reservation to help take care of the threats to the casino. Before Red Crow can interject, Johnny has already hung up the phone.
Dashiell "Dash" Bad Horse (Martin Sensmeier) is driving toward the casino when he finally looks at his arm and realizes just how much blood he is losing. He decides to go to Carol Red Crow's (Jessica Matten) trailer to see her. When she sees the blood, she insists he sit down. She pours some liquor over the wound and begins stitching it up with dental floss. When she's done, she asks how it feels. Dash replies that it feels minty. Carol then realizes that she used the minty floss and laughs. To help with the pain, she offers him some meth. Dash hesitates, but decides to try it.
Granny Poor Bear (Geraldine Keams) is sweeping a prairie rattlesnake away from her front door when she notices Catcher (Raoul Trujillo) approaching the house. She asks him what he wants since he usually isn't seen this close to civilization unless it's for liquor. He tells her that he has been trying to find Gina Bad Horse. Granny says that she hasn't seen Gina. Catcher is disappointed and promptly turns around and walks away from the house. Granny is confused by the exchange.
Gina is still crying in her car as she drives back into South Dakota. Lawrence Belcourt calls the casino. Red Crow answers, still angry from his conversation with Johnny Tongue. Lawrence tells Red Crow that he doesn't want him to waste his money paying for his protection anymore after his visit with Gina. Red Crow is curious about the visit. Lawrence tells Red Crow to relax, he didn't give her any information she didn't already have.
