In Development

 

Sins of the Father: George Katt (Five Boroughs, Match Struck), Ann Dowd (Open Hearts, Don't Hang up), and Langley Kirkwood ("Warrior", The Mauritanian) will round out the supporting cast around stars Jack Reynor and Mel Gibson in director Yann Damange's western, Sins of the Father. Jimmy Ellis penned the sctipt in a return to the cowboy genre.

The Vintner: Berenice Bejo (Another End, Under Paris), Ricardo Darin (Heroic Loseres, The Summit), and Juan Diego Botto (The Suicide Squad, On the Fringe) have joined Viggo Mortensen and Walton Goggins in the Argentina-set suspense film, The Vintner. Bejo will play the title character's love interest, Darin will play a shopkeeper, while Botto will play a local detective. Pablo Larrain is directing the film from an original script by Dwight Gallo.

Scarlet Witch: The latest Marvel Universe production, a sequel to Season 25's Scarlet, has continued to build out its cast with the official additions of Jet Li (Mulan, Mortal Kombat II), Nina Dobrev (Zombieworld, The Bricklayer), Ben Wang ("American Born Chinese", Chang Can Dunk), and Inaki Godoy (The Imperfects, "One Piece). Li was already announced at the most recent Comic-Con to be playing the Ancient One in the film, while Dobrev has been as Doctor Strange's love interest, Clea. Wang and Godoy will play students studying the mystic ats in the film. Leigh Janiak directs from a script by Roy Horne.

The Ballad of Dwight Frye: Richard E. Grant (Shatterhand, Wolf) and John Goodman (Tomato Can, The Sandman) have joined the Hollywood horror biopic, The Ballad of Dwight Frye, which tells the story of the urban legend that Dracula and Frankenstein star Dwight Frye went insane playing his characters in those films. Grant plays Frankenstein director James Whale, while Goodman will play a cruel doctor. Sam Mendes directs the film, which was written by D.R. Cobb.

Dean: George Clooney (Particle, Misfit) has signed on to direct and star in Dean, a film based on former Vermont governor Howard Dean who unsuccessfully tried to secure the Democratic nomination for president in the 2004 election. Jessica Chastain (Haven, Painkiller Jane) and  Jeremy Strong (One By One, Red Wolf: Wanderer) have also signed on to the project. Chastain and Strong will play Dean's campaign advisors, Kate O'Donnell and Joe Trippi. Alex Conn (Repeal and Replace, Anarchy).

Mirror's Curse: Charlie Heaton (Hideaway, Survive the Night) and Naomi Scott (Eye of the Scarecrow, Mask of the Phantom) will star in Mirror's Curse, about a young couple who acquire a mysterious and possibly haunted mirror. Cate Shortland (An Anonymous Girl, Bad Dreams Come True) is being tasked with directing the supernatural horror film based on a script by Billy Cruder (Terror of the Lost Time, Redhead).
