Blackwater: Jesse Plemons (Libra, Black Mass) has joined the cast of John Hillcoat and Dwight Gallo's upcoming crime film. Reportedly, Plemons chose this film over a handful of other productions vying for his services. He will play DiCaprio's deputy.
Lucky Luke and the Daltons: Taika Waititi and Harry Wright have found their title character in this comedy/western comic book adaptation in Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, This Is 40), who will play Lucky Luke himself.
American Psycho: The Musical: A couple of actresses who have worked on the play on-stage have joined the film adaptation. Helene York ("Graves", "Masters of Sex") and Jennifer Damiano (Broadway star of American Psycho and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) have been cast in the project. Damiano will reprise her role from both the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions as Jean, Patrick Bateman's secretary. York will play Courtney, a woman Bateman is having an affair with, who she previously played Off-Broadway.
Trigger: Last Resort Films has just hired Peter Weir (The Way Back, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) to direct a script they recently received from Share screenwriter Jack Ryder. The story is about a young man who is recruited by a terrorist organization. While the studio is still deciding on a leading man, they have entered into talks with Adrien Brody (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Midnight in Paris) for a large supporting role.
Siren: The studio has recently received a high-concept fantasy-horror script from writer Ben Collins that they have decided to fast track for production. The story is set in the world of an underground supernatural sex club. Up and coming horror director Robert Eggers (The Witch) has already reached a deal to direct the project.
