Plot: Jonathan Harker (Richard Madden) travels to Castle Dracula to meet Count Dracula (Oscar Isaac) to get signatures for a real estate transaction. When Harker tries to leave the castle, he finds himself trapped inside. Dracula kills Harker and feeds on his blood. Dracula leaves Transylvania on a ship bound for England. The ship eventually reaches England, but struggles to dock during a storm. The next morning, the beached ship is found to be empty except for the captain's dead body and some empty shipping crates.
In London, Harker's fiance Mina worries that something has happened to Jonathan. Her friend Lucy Westenra (Madelaine Petsch) invites her to stay with her until Jonathan returns from his business trip. Mina's worries are confirmed when she is told that her fiance was supposed to have been on the beached ship. That night, Mina accompanies Lucy to a party. At the party, Lucy meets Dracula and they dance together. Dracula sees Mina and believes her to be the reincarnation of his long dead wife, Minerva. He dances with her. He has a flashback of dancing with his wife (Camilla Belle) at their wedding. Mina starts to feel strange and ends the dance early. She leaves the party. Dracula takes Lucy home to his recently purchased London estate. They have sex and he bites her on the neck.
The next morning, Lucy wakes up in her own bed. Her health begins to rapidly deteriorate. Her family brings in Dr. John Seward (Jack Davenport) to find out what's making her sick. He mentions marks he found on her neck to his colleague Dr. Abraham Van Helsing (Michael Fassbender), who asks to immediately see Lucy. Van Helsing inspects Lucy as she sleeps. He spots the bite marks on her neck. He carefully ties her to the bed. He applies a drop of liquid to her skin, which starts burning like acid, causing Lucy to wake up and scream. She tries to break free from the restraints, but is too weak. Van Helsing asks Mina if Lucy has gone anywhere or been with anyone recently. She tells him about meeting the Count at the party.
That night, Dracula arrives at the estate. He tells Mina that he wanted to see how Lucy was doing. As Dracula corners Mina, Van Helsing and his assistant Arthur Holmwood (Tom Felton) shoot him with arrows from a crossbow. Dracula turns into a swarm of bats and flees the main hall, weakened from the silver tips of the arrows. Mina escapes to the courtyard. Lucy breaks free from her restraints, now a full vampire. She attacks Mina in the courtyard, but is stacked through the heart by Van Helsing. Van Helsing has Holmwood guard Mina in the house while he goes after Dracula.
Dracula enters the house as a swarm of bats through the chimney. Mina attempts to flee the house, but is caught by Dracula. Holmwood attacks Dracula, who easily overpowers and kills him. Mina escapes the house into the street. As Dracula follows her down an alleyway, he is trapped in a cage. He is chained up and locked away in a tomb until Van Helsing can figure out how to kill Dracula for good.
