Breaking News

Last Resort Films recently made big headlines when they announced that they would make a Batman film. Now, as if trying to one-up those headlines, they have announced that they found their leading man in Jake Gyllenhaal (Stronger, Maria). While meeting with the actor to discuss an upcoming project, the topic of Batman came up and studio president Phil Dolan offered him the role on the spot. After some negotiations, the studio reached a deal with Gyllenhaal's representation. The star will reportedly make a whopping $15 million for the first film in a planned series. Sources indicate that depending on the performance of the films, the actor could wind up making as much as $30 million for each sequel and/or receive points on the gross, as well as having director and cast approval. Gyllenhaal will first commence filming on another film soon and begin to train for his role as the Caped Crusader. With a star in place, the studio is reportedly looking to fast track the film for a release in early-to-mid Season 4. Needless to say this is a big win for the actor, the studio, and the movie-going public.
