Reaction: This movie was very obviously saved by the film's performance in foreign territories. The film did especially well in Russia and Asia. Not sure why domestic audiences weren't very interested, but the concept of the film does easily translate itself to other cultures.
"An exciting, uneven thriller that uses great special effects to pit dinosaurs against soldiers. This movie should not have been very watchable given the source material, but director Matt Reeves uses every trick up his sleeve to keep this movie churning at a quick, entertaining pace." - Paul Onkean, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
"Despite the cast's pedigree, all of the characters in this film are stock, one-note cliches that have been done to death. Karen Gillan is an immensely watchable actress, but the tough female lead has a real "been there, done that" quality." - Stephen Ridley, Boston Globe
"This routine video-game spinoff borrows heavily from James Cameron action flicks and the Jurassic Park films but doesn't do much else." - Michael Wilmington, Rolling Stone
