Reaction: We're not sure what happened here. The first film was a solid performer bringing in just over $300 million at the worldwide box office, while this one bombed domestically and slightly under-performed overseas. The only big difference in the production of the film was the switch from Alex Garland to Neill Blomkamp as director, but we're not sure if that actually had any box office impact.
