Reaction: This one was a tricky one when it came time to market the film, with us having to rely on Margot Robbie's star power to try to sell the film in addition to the plot. It came pretty close to making a profit despite the difficult to market subject matter, and we feel that is, at least in part, due to the audience Robbie drew in. In hindsight, we might have been able to negotiate her down a few million, which could have put the film in the black, but we elected to meet her demands on this particular project - especially since she probably could have asked for more money for Calamity.

"Overly ambitious, this film, even after being trimmed down by the studio, has far too much story for one film. Perhaps focusing more on the attempts on Hitler's life would have given the film a stronger narrative focus - and a goal for the main character, something that was missing through much of the film." - Michael Wilmington, Rolling Stone

"There are individual scenes that are quite strong in Life After Life. Unfortunately the source material's story structure just doesn't feel like a good fit for the big screen." - Mark Plainsview, ReelViews

"While not a perfect film, there is a lot to like on the screen. Margot Robbie gives a strong, luminous performance. J.J. Abrams handles the scale of the project well and manages to keep the difficult structure of the film as accessible as possible." - Jeremy Raren, RottenTomatoes.com
