Reaction: After starting the season with a couple of flops it was nice to see this one end up so far into the green. Our Marvel Universe output this season is more modestly budgeted than usual, so we're hoping that the lower costs translate to high profits like it did here with our other MU film, The Punisher.
"The Black Cat probably won't check all the boxes of superhero and Marvel Universe fans. While the film has some fun Marvel easter eggs and a trio of strong lead performances, the lack of action and effects may turn off the more casual fan." - Ben Mazur, SciFiNow
"Ana de Armas is great in the lead role, providing the film plenty of charm and charisma. While the film was a bit light on the action, Gerard Butler provides a couple fun fight scenes." - Janet Donnelly, Empire Magazine
"The film was working alright, but then Gerard Butler showed up and completely stole the show with his intense and, dare I say, surprisingly sympathetic performance. He, Ana de Armas and Gaspard Ulliel make for a great group of stars that will keep the audience entertained and engrossed throughout." - Michael Carthage, Associated Press
Rated PG-13 for action violence and some language
