Reaction: Ouch! Things are not looking great for this season with two straight bombs right out of the gate. This film definitely cost too much due to the large cast and multiple locations, and does not appear to have gotten the type of word of mouth that is generally needed for dramedies like this to make a box office dent.
"Is Less a bit of a mess? Yes! That said, Ewan McGregor gives a very empathetic performance that helps ground the all the excess of the film and story. Frankly, he saves the film." - Matthew Ellis, USA Today
"The story of Less is not easy to keep track of as the film bounces around way too much. Ewan McGregor also feels a bit young and fresh-faced for his character. Some of the scenes are entertaining, thanks to the talented performers involved." - Leslie Vandergort, Minneapolis Star Tribune
"The filmmakers could have taken a clue from the title of their film and given us Less. There are too many side characters and too many locations to keep track of. The film plays like a jigsaw puzzle with too many pieces." - Sean Williamson, Toronto Star
Rated R for language and sexuality
