Reaction: Pretty decent numbers for a mostly contained thriller. The first thriller of Season 18 and it appears that the genre's positive trend for the studio continues.

"While far from perfect, Lock Every Door does manage to hit most of its marks. Director Debra Granik captures an eery vibe reminiscient of Rosemary's Baby. Star Dakota Johnson puts in good work, although her scenes are occasionally stolen by the likes of Topher Grace, Rosamund Pike and Paul Walter Hauser." - Stan Kyle, Omaha World-Herald

"Lock Every Door struggles to maintain its momentum with how frequently it jumps around in time. This film probably could have just as well, if not better, told in a more chronological order. It would have allowed us to follow and connect more with the lead, played ably by Dakota Johnson. As it stands, it is hard to connect with any of the characters." - Sean Williamson, Toronto Star

"Dakota Johnson gets a well-deserved star vehicle with this mostly solid thriller. The film definitely has more meat on its bones than it needs, with multiple superfluous scenes and characters that could easily be eliminated without the story missing a beat. Those unnessecary characters just keep the interesting ones played by Johnson, Heughan, Grace and Hauser off the screen too much." - Michael Van Patten, Slant Magazine

Rated R for thematic material, language, violence and disturbing images.
