Plot: Dick Grayson (Taron Egerton), in his Robin regalia, runs on the rooftops of Bludhaven, jumping from building to building. He is running after the criminal Rainbow Raider (Chris D'Elia). Rainbow Raider is running along rainbow “hard light” constructs that he generates from a gun. Robin is struggling to keep up with him, however he feels close enough to be able to reach out. As he reaches out an arrow flies past his hand. In the background it can be seen that Helena Bertinelli, the Huntress (Hailee Steinfeld), has joined the chase. She yells out to Robin telling him that Rainbow Raider is hers. She catches up to Robin and they each chase the criminal. Very quickly the two of them are knocked over by a green lion. The lion turns back to them and transforms into a green-skinned young man, Garfield Logan (Asa Butterfield). Gar apologies to the both of them. He then turns back into a lion and chases after the Rainbow Raider. He leaps over to jump onto the rainbow hard light constructs but his lion paws are unable to grip the rainbow, sending the lion crashing back to the ground. Rainbow Raider laughs as he escapes the three wannabe superheroes.

Robin and Huntress reach where the lion fell. The lion now back as a human gets up and apologizes to the two of them once more. He says that he is a big fan of Robin and Huntress. He introduces himself as Beast Boy, he whispers that his real name though is Garfield Logan. Robin is pissed off and argues with Huntress, saying she should know better than to get in his way. Huntress then argues back with Robin and also starts yelling at Beast Boy. They all argue about who is really at fault for letting the Rainbow Raider escape justice.

In deep outer space, Princesses Koriand’r (Haley Lu Richardson) and Komand’r (Suki Waterhouse) of Tamaran are escorted by Psions into containment cells on their intergalactic research vessel. They are both strapped to examination tables. The Psion commander, Zylyk (Robert Carlyle), comes out of a room with a team of scientists. They begin experimenting on the princesses. Zylyk tells them the reasoning of what he is doing. He says that he is trying to find all weaknesses of the advanced Tamaranian biology. The two princesses scream as they are being tortured. What the commander didn’t know is something happens to Tamaranians when in contact with a planet called Earth’s sun. As they fly past the sun Koriand’r begins harnessing the UV. She begins to glow orange and manages to burst out of her constraints. The commander sees the commotion and has Komand’r quickly incapacitated. Koriand’r blasts some of her captors with energy blasts. She looks to her unconscious sister and promises to come back for her before running to find a way out of the ship. After running through a few more of her captors she blasts a hole in the side of the ship to make her escape. Commander Zylyk orders his men to seal up the hull of the ship. Koriand’r flies toward the nearest planet to where she is – Earth. As she speeds through Earth's atmosphere, Koriand'r loses control of her powers, crashing into the earth.

Arguing, Robin, Huntress and Beast Boy are startled by the crash landing of what looked like a meteor. Deciding to investigate, the trio run to the crash site and see that it is what looks like an alien. Beast Boy asks what they should do and Robin says they can’t leave her here. He says they need to take her someplace safe. Beast Boy speaks up and says that he has a great place they can take her. Robin and Huntress grab the unconscious alien and follow Beast Boy away from the crater Koriand'r body left in the earth.

They arrive at an abandoned lot nearby. Robin and Huntress express doubt that Beast Boy knows where he is going. Beast Boy says that his place is a lot better then what it looks like. He takes them through to his “piece de resistance” - his prized Winnebago.

A large ball of blue light emerges in Bludhaven. Inside the blue light, Jaime Reyes (Avan Jogia) emerges. Jaime is confused at the lack of OMAC presence and the Brother Eye satellite not being in the sky. He begins walking through the city, which is mostly empty at this time of night. Jaime feels disoriented and throws up in a garbage can. Inside the garbage can, he notices a newspaper. He takes a hard look at the date on the newspaper, realizing that it has been nearly two years since the scarab had teleported him away from Maxwell Lord's Brother Eye satellite. Jaime begins insulting the scarab, which simply buzzes back at him.

Komand'r wakes up on the Psion ship, still strapped down. The Psion commander informs her that Koriand'r escaped the ship, trying to destroy the whole ship in the process. Zylyk tells Komand'r that her sister made no effort to rescue her or ensure her safety during her escape. He walks around her and tells her that her sister is not coming back for her, he adds that she purposely didn’t help her escape she easily could have. He continues manipulating Komand'r, who he calls Blackfire. Komand'r is surprised that the Psions would know what her family on Tamaran calls her. Zylyk tells her that he knows more than she could ever know. He convinces Komand'r that her sister, Koriand'r - who he knows her family calls Starfire, left her behind to die. A Psion search vessel arrives in Bludhaven, on the ship is a map of Bludhaven with a blinking light showing the location of Starfire.

The blue scarab makes a noise and a mask is put over Jaime’s face, turning him back into his Beetle form. The scarab flies Jaime to the location of the ship, against his will. Robin, Huntress and Beast Boy walk outside of the Winnebago to see the the Beetle flying through the air, trying to resist the scarab. The scarab forces Beetle to make a hand cannon and blasts the Psion ship to smithereens. Beast Boy stands in amazement, then turns into a cheetah to run towards the action. As soon as he arrives to the Beetle's location, he says that he is a huge fan. He introduces himself and thanks him for what happened with the OMAC battle. Gar is impressed by getting to meet THE Blue Beetle. Robin and Huntress arrive and tell Beast Boy to stop freaking Beetle out. Robin says that they actually could use Beetle’s help. They run back to the Winnebago and show him Starfire. Beast Boy asks what they should do. Jaime apologises but says that he can’t get involved he is too confused as to what is going on. Robin, Huntress and especially Beast Boy look disappointed as Blue Beetle leaves the Winnebago, the three look at each other and ask what they should do now.

Robin, Huntress and Beast Boy sit around in the Winnebago contemplating what they should do. Suddenly Robin gets a phone call. He grabs his phone and it is Alfred (Jonathan Pryce), he says that he needs to meet with him, Alfred asks Robin to come to the Batcave. He asks if Bruce is there and Alfred says no. Beast Boy looks at Robin with a shocked look. “Did you just say, Bruce?” “Is Bruce Wayne the Batman?” Huntress also looks to Robin. Robin says no straight away and says he has to go meet someone.

Robin arrives at the Batcave on his motorcycle. As soon as he gets off the bike Alfred expresses some concern that Robin is out trying to fight crime without Bruce. Alfred shows him footage of his failure in stopping Rainbow Rider. Robin laments that that was a one-time thing, it won’t happen again. Alfred says he thought that he would say something like that. He says if he is to continue this he should be better equipped. Alfred hands Robin a pair of batons. He tells Robin to smack them together twice. He does so and they become electrified. Alfred tells him these are shock batons they will stop the enemy without dealing any serious damage. He says that the batons can also be joined together to make a bo staff. Robin locks the batons in and tests the staff. Robin thanks Alfred for the gift. Alfred tells him to be careful and to remember that he is just a phone call away.

Confused by the changed world around him, Jaime travels back to his hometown of El Paso. He enters his childhood home, but nobody is in the house. He goes to his old bedroom, which is exactly as he left it two years prior. He lays down on the bed and falls asleep. When he wakes up, he hears the television on and walks out to the living room. Jaime's father, Alberto (Demian Bichir), is sitting by himself in front of the television. Alberto suddenly notices his son standing there and breaks down crying. He gives Jaime a big hug, saying that he thought Jaime was dead. Jaime explains to his dad that he is the Beetle and that he was helping the Justice League team fight off the OMAC robots that were running amok two years prior, and for whatever reason, when the scarab was teleporting him away from danger it took two years to do so. Alberto says he doesn't care what happened or what Jaime was up to, he's just happy to have his son back. Jaime tells his dad that he has someone else he has to see: Ted Kord. Alberto asks if he's talking about THE Ted Kord. Jaime confirms, and Alberto breaks the news to his son that Kord was killed. Jaime is shocked and tells his father that he doesn't want to be a superhero anymore. He doesn't want to die like Kord. Alberto encourages his son to use the scarab's powers for good so that more people like Ted Kord aren't killed.

Frustrated and furious about his search team being demolished, the Psion Commander sends the brainwashed Blackfire to retrieve her betrayal of a sister, Starfire. He tells her one last thing that peaks her interest - he does not care if Starfire lives or dies. At this point it is about cleaning up the mess she created by any means necessary. Blackfire's eyes turn black and she exits the ship in a smaller vessel with a Psion "clean-up crew". After she has left, Zylyk tells the other Psions that he has secretly enhanced Blackfire's natural abilities to ensure her completion of the mission.

After taking into account what his father had said earlier, Jaime arrives back at the Winnebago. He enters and sees Beast Boy and Huntress watching Starfire closely. She seems to be having an intense nightmare as she kicks and turns. Her body then begins to glow. The scarab quickly alerts Jaime, and he suggests to the others that they get out of the Winnebago quickly. They run out just as an explosion of light surrounds Starfire, shattering the windows and heavily damaging the Winnebago. Beast Boy is on his knees and is visibly distraught at the state of the Winnebago not even the comfort of his idol, Blue Beetle can make him happy.

Robin promptly arrives to see the ruins of the Winnebago and asks what happened. Huntress explains to him that the alien girl blew up. Robin looks intrigued. Beetle asks where Robin was, and Robin says he was just picking up some new gear. Beast Boy almost jealously says that Robin must have been out meeting the Batman. Robin turns and says that isn't the case. All of a sudden Starfire wakes up. At first she is freaking, unsure of where she is. Beetle calms her down and says that Robin, Beast Boy and Huntress found her and have been keeping her safe. She thanks them all. Huntress asks where she is from and asks who she is. Starfire says that her name is Princess Koriand’r she comes from a planet called Tamaran. She explains that she and her sister were sold as slaves to the reptilian alien race known as the Psions, who fancy themselves scientists, but that their version of science mostly involves documenting what happens when various subjects are slowly tortured to death. She tells them that they still have her sister and asks them to help her save her sister. Beast Boy and Beetle are eager to help, but Robin and Huntress have their concerns since they don't have superpowers or a magical scarab to protect themselves against an advanced alien race.

Blackfire arrives in Bludhaven with the Psion clean-up crew. A group of frat guys are on their way home from the bar when they are stunned to see the extraterrestrial creatures before them. Blackfire incinerates him with a blast of purple fire. Blackfire and the Psions begin scouring the area of any trace of Starfire on their scanner. Blackfire says that she can tell that they are close - she can feel her sister's energy.

As Starfire is telling her story, Huntress notices an irregular flashing coming from the back of Starfire’s neck. She asks if Starfire knows what it is, but Starfire doesn't know what she is talking about. Huntress suggests it looks like it could be a tracking device. Starfire – concerned – asks Huntress to remove the device. Huntress grabs one of her arrows and digs the device out of Starfire's neck as the extraterrestrial winces in pain. Huntress then drops the device and stomps on it to destroy it. The Psion team informs Blackfire that her sister's tracking device has been destroyed. Blackfire is furious and begins firing out large purple ultra-violet light blasts, illuminating the night and casting the area in purple flame.

Starfire notices the purple flame and gets excited, telling the group that her sister must be nearby. Starfire runs off to find her sister, and the rest of the group decides to follow her. Starfire is surprised to find her sister standing with a group of Psions, but before she can ask what's going on Blackfire blasts Starfire with a bolt of black lightning. Starfire is sent flying into a garbage truck, her body crushing it like a tin can. The scarab engulfs Jaime in the Beetle armor and fires an energy blast at the Psions, sending them scattering. Beast Boy accidentally transforms into a giraffe. He then transforms into a gorilla, stating that when he gets nervous sometimes he turns into the wrong thing.

Robin and Huntress fight the group of Psions, using all of the weapons at their disposal. Blackfire starts walking toward her sister, but Beetle hits her with a hammer generated by the scarab. Beast Boy in his gorilla form, wakes Starfire up. Starfire is confused why her sister would attack her like that. Blackfire recovers from the Beetle's hit and makes her way toward Starfire, who asks Blackfire why she's doing this. Blackfire hits Beast Boy and Beetle with bolts of black energy, knocking them out of the way. Blackfire stands in front of Starfire and grabs her by the neck. Blackfire berates Starfire for ditching her and leaving her to die up on the Psion ship. Blackfire begins glowing with purple light.

Robin and Huntress have their hands full with the Psions. Robin uses his shock batons to try to incapacitate the Psions, but it has little effect. Huntress has slightly better luck with her crossbow, but being riddled with arrows only slows the Psions down so much. The Psions have Robin and Huntress cornered, but suddenly Beast Boy pounces on the Psions in gorilla form. He throws the Psions around like ragdolls, slamming their bodies into a brick wall. Psion Commander Zylyk is unable to contact the team, due to them being knocked unconscious by Beast Boy, and announces that they are headed down to the planet below to see what the problem is.

Blackfire is holding Starfire by the neck, squeezing the life out of her in anger. Starfire can barely breathe, but she manages to tell Blackfire that she was going to come back for her. Blackfire doesn't believe her and throws her to the ground. Robin, Huntress, Beetle and Beast Boy make their way back toward Starfire when they notice the primary Psion ship descend upon Bludhaven. Beast Boy gleefully comments that this will definitely end up on the news. Huntress rolls her eyes at Beast Boy's remark. Beetle tells the others to get back to Starfire while he tries to fight off the ship. The scarab sends several energy blasts at the ship, causing it to crashland in the middle of a parking lot. While running toward Starfire, Beast Boy comments that it is awfully convenient that all of the destruction has been isolated to deserted areas.

Blackfire fires prolonged black lightning bolts at Starfire, slowly killing her. Huntress fires her crossbow at Blackfire, but the arrows are disintegrated by the purple flames engulfing Blackfire. Beast Boy says it's his turn, but accidentally turns into a penguin. Robin charges at Blackfire with his batons. He connects the batons into a staff and uses it to launch himself at Blackfire. He kicks Blackfire in the head, interrupting her bolts, and sending her stumbling away from Starfire.

Psion Commander Zylyk limps out of his destroyed research ship. He is surprised to see the latest Beetle scarab host in front of him. Zylyk tries to barter with Beetle, offering to remove the scarab from him so that he can live a normal life. Beetle considers it for a moment, but fires an energy blast at the Psion Commander instead, turning him into a pile of blue dust.

As the sun begins to rise, Starfire wakes up. Her body begins to glow orange. Huntress comments that they've seen that before, and tells Beast Boy that they should get out of the area. He asks what about Robin, but she says they don't have time and that he can protect himself.

Robin is on the ground, charred and injured form his successful strike on Blackfire. Blackfire walks toward Robin, prepared to execute him for his attack. Starfire comes from behind and gives her sister a hug. Robin recognizes the orange glow and begins hobbling away. Huntress comes back and helps Robin to safety. Robin, Huntress, Beast Boy and Beetle watch as Starfire glows brighter and brighter as Blackfire struggles to break free from the hug. Starfire tells Blackfire that she's sorry. The orange glow becomes a blinding flash. Starfire emerges from a cloud of dust and debris, and walks toward the group.

Helicopters descend upon the scene. Sasha Bordeaux (Lea Seydoux) emerges from one of the helicopters and demands that her crew seal off the area immediately. She advises the young superheroes to get out of the area immediately before she has to question them and report the group to her superiors. Robin, Beetle, Huntress, Beast Boy and Starfire all quickly leave the scene. News vans begin pulling up to the scene, and Bordeaux tells them all that a meteor crash landed in the area, but that all relevant government agencies are on the scene to take care of the situation.

As the team walks away from the carnage, Beast Boy asks what they should call themselves now that they're a team. He starts rattling off potential names, but Robin tells him to stop talking. Beast Boy agrees, but then immediately asks where everyone is walking to. Huntress rolls her eyes at him. Beast Boy then asks if he can crash on someone's sofa since his home was recently destroyed by a fugitive alien from the planet Tamaran. Starfire apologizes to Beast Boy for the destruction of his home, but assures him that she does not have a sofa he can crash on, whatever that means.

Mid-Credits Scene: The Rainbow Raider is once again escaping a heist by running along his hard light rainbow path, but he is stopped in his tracks by the Beetle landing on the path in front of him. He looks to his left and sees Beast Boy in eagle form flying next to him. Rainbow Raider looks to his right and sees Robin and Huntress standing on top of a rooftop. Rainbow Raider looks behind him and sees Starfire standing there, fists glowing orange. Rainbow Raider mutters "shit" as all five Titans charge toward him.

Post-Credits Scene: Beetle covers Beast Boy’s eyes, while the rest of the team, Starfire, Huntress and Robin, follow close by. The camera pans at the same time to show that the team bought a brand new, tricked-out Winnebago for Beast Boy. He is super excited and hugs all of them. As he hugs Robin. Robin whispers in his ear, “Bruce Wayne is Batman.” Beast Boy faints.
