Urban Cowboy: Kim Dickens (Sleeping Beauties, "Fear of the Walking Dead"), Aimee Teegarden (Y: The Last Man, "Rolling Stone") and Michael Madsen (After, The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth) will round out the cast of the Urban Cowboy remake. Dickens will play Dermot Mulroney's wife, Madsen will play the owner and proprieter of Gilley's honky tonk bar, while Teegarden will play a waitress at the club. Superman: The Last Son of Krypton: After the news of all the returning cast members, there are finally some new additions to the cast of Superman: The Last Son of Krypton. Vin Diesel (Gargoyles, Bloodshot) and Sean Harris (The King of Hearts, Assassin's Creed: The New Order) have signed on to the project. Diesel will play the seemingly unstoppable alien bounty hunter Lobo, and Harris will play the film's primary villain - Brainiac. Jeff Nichols has returned to direct once again from a script by John Malone.
The Past Before: Rookie writer Harmony Winters' upcoming sci-fi action film has signed some high-priced supporting talent in the form of Michael Keaton (Don't Hang Up, October Crisis), Liam Neeson (Shake Hands with the Devil, The Beatles) and Mark Rylance (Firestorm, The Stranger). Keaton will play a US Army colonel, Neeson will play the US President, and Rylance will play a scientist. Ric Roman Waugh makes his LRF debut as director on the project.
Poison Ivy: Jennifer Carpenter (The Punisher, Dragged Across Concrete), Emile Hirsch (The Second Life of John Wilkes Booth, Chris, Travis & Juliet), Desmond Harrington (Life on Mars, Perfect Blue) and Jared Harris (Inferno, "Chernobyl") have all been announced as members of the cast of director Sam Levinson and writer Roy Horne's Poison Ivy remake. Carpenter will play the wife of Kyle Chandler and mother of Maude Apatow, Harrington will play a teacher, and Harris will play Chandler's boss. Hirsch, meanwhile, will play a pop star with some of the actor's own recent music set to appear on the film's soundtrack.
Spider-Man: It was already announced that Lucas Hedges (Kansas City, The Letter J) has signed on to star as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in a new big-budget adaptation from director Damien Chazelle (Oklahoma!, American Playboy). Now it has been announced that Elle Fanning (High School, The Letter J) and Matthew McConaughey (Hands on a Hard Body, Stained) are also set for roles in the film. Fanning has been cast as Parker's love interest, Gwen Stacy, while McConaughey has been cast as billionaire industrialist Norman Osborn. The film was written by D.R. Cobb (Constantine: The Hellblazer, Splinter Cell: Blacklist) and Chad Taylor (Kansas City, The Black Cat).
Boys of the Bayou: The first film of Season 20 will be a musically-themed drama from director Spike Lee (Da 5 Bloods, BlacKkKlansman) that will star Denzel Washington (Bastion, The Little Things), Samuel L. Jackson (Police Story: Case Closed, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) and Bill Murray (Heights, The Mutation). Washington will play a mild-mannered type writer repairman who gets an unexpected visit from his long-estranged brother, played by Jackson. Murray will play Washington's friend and employer. The film was written by Jimmy Ellis (Hillside, Task Force X) and Chad Taylor (Kansas City, Prodigy).
