Reaction: Numbers were down across the board while expenses were up for the sequel to the Season 13 hit, The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger. Hopefully that does not continue moving forward with the franchise as writer Matt Parker has already adapted most of the other novels in the series from Stephen King.
"Where the first film developed a solid rhythm and momentum, this sequel stutters and backfires. The plot of this one lacks immediacy and the story has no clue what to do with Eric Bana's Man in Black." - Joel Sapperstein, Las Vegas Review-Journal
"While The Drawing of the Three is certainly not as good as The Gunslinger was, my hopes are still high with this Dark Tower franchise. The filmmakers appear to understand Stephen King's characters and visual world." - Audrey Columbus, Collider
"The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three feels pretty directionless and certainly doesn't always work as its own story, but the visuals are strong and Christian Bale still feels like the perfect choice to lead the series." - Clark Haverford, Nerdist
Rated R for violence, language and drug content
