At the Mountains of Madness: Graham McTavish (Aquaman, "Preacher"), Eric Christian Olsen (The Devil's Revenge, "NCIS: LA"), Ed Helms (Delaware, The Lady in the Lake) and Bella Heathcote (Batman: Arkham, Sisters) have joined Tom Cruise and company in At the Mountains of Madness. Heathcote is set to play Cruise's fiance, while the others will play members of the scientific expedition at the center of the film's plot. Dwight Gallo wrote the script based on the famed book by HP Lovecraft with Joseph Kosinski directing.
Ghost Stories: Carolina Crescentini (Sconnessi, There's No Place Like Home), Mckenna Grace (The Powerpuff Girls, 7 Days), Simon Baker (Curtains, Hawkman) and Linda Cardellini (The King of Hearts, Burnt Dreams) have signed on to round out the large ensemble cast of Ghost Stories from writer Jack Slipter and writer Luca Guadagnino. They will all play residents of a small Italian town plagued with mysterious, seemingly supernatural deaths.
Urban Cowboy: Hot off strong notices for his role in Kansas City, Orlando Bloom (Kansas City, The Fantastic Four) has signed on to co-star in Urban Cowboy. He will play a recently released ex-con who gets a job at a Houston honky tonk. Alexandra Daddario (Damned Ship, The Creature: The Beginning) and Dermot Mulroney (The Courier, Deadly Illusions) have also signed on to the project. Daddario will play a woman with eyes for Alden Ehrenreich's character, while Mulroney will play Ehrenreich's uncle. Taylor Sheridan is directing the film from a script by APJ.
Superman: The Last Son of Krypton: The latest Superman film will see a handful of familiar faces as Frances McDormand (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, Haute Couture), Bradley Whitford (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, Songbird), Hugh Laurie (Haunted, The Crucible) and Noel Fisher (Capone, "Shameless") are all set to return. They will reprise their roles as Martha Kent, Perry White, Dr. Emil Hamilton and Jimmy Olsen, respectively. Jeff Nichols is back directing the blockbuster which is once again penned by John Malone.
The Past Before: Daniel Kaluuya (Nexus, Mandingos), Zazie Beetz (Visions, To the Moon) and Christoph Waltz (Bunker 17, Justice League Europe) have signed on to star in The Past Before, a sci-fi action film from new writer Harmony Winters. Kaluuya and Beetz will play a couple who find themselves involved in a conspiracy involving time travel, the White House and an alien threat. Waltz, meanwhile, has been cast as the US Secretary of Defense. Ric Roman Waugh (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) has been tasked to direct the film.
Poison Ivy: Kyle Chandler (Walker, Torso), Sydney Sweeney (Fear of the Dark, "Euphoria") and Maude Apatow (Shouts from the Well, King of Staten Island) have signed on to star in a remake of the 1994 erotic thriller, Poison Ivy. Chandler will play a Hollywood talent agent whose family life is upended by the arrival of his daughter's new friend. Apatow will play Chandler's teenage daughter who befriends the sexy and and conniving Ivy, played by Sydney Sweeney. Sam Levinson (Malcolm & Marie, Assassination Nation) is directing the thriller based on a script by Roy Horne (Cecil, Painkiller Jane).
