Reaction: It's always nice to get a hit right out of the gates to start a season. This sequel grossed a decent amount more than the first Black Cat, although due to an increased budget it turned an almost identical profit. Much of the new principal cast signed multi-film contracts, so some of them could return to the Marvel Universe in the new future.

"More fun than exciting, this Black Cat sequel excels more with its character work than it ever does with any of its action scenes. Much like a superhero-themed Ocean's Eleven, this film relies more on the interactions between its cast than on the actual heist itself. Ana de Armas is once again great as the Black Cat and Vince Vaughn brings an intensity and quick wit to Kingpin that creates a more fun and lively Fisk than we've ever seen before." - Dave Manning, Ridgefield Press

"I really wanted to like The Black Cat Strikes Again. There are indeed plenty of individuals things about it to enjoy, but it just didn't all add up to me. Some of the supporting players felt shoehorned in a bit, and the time we spent with them was less time spent with the more interesting characters like Felicia, Fisk and Silver." - Cal Crowe, Washington Globe

"The second installment of the Black Cat on the big screen intrigues me more than the first one. Ana de Armas can once again shine in her role as Felicia Hardy, while she is surrounded by good performances from a well fitting supporting cast. The scenes with the perfectly casted Michael Cera as Leap-Frog steal the show. Him fleeing out of the chaos with Ana de Armas on his back is probably the best scene I've seen in quite some time. It's a superhero-heist-action movie mixed with some comedy elements - that might be too much for some people but I feel like it works pretty good. All in all it is a very fun and enjoyable movie." - Joseph Goodrich, Salt Lake Tribune

Rated PG-13 for superhero violence and some language
