Gathering of the Wolves: Catherine O'Hara ("Schitt's Creek", A.C.O.D.) and Max Irons (Police Story: Case Closed, Red Sonja) have signed on to round out the cast of Tim Burton's werewolf fantasy, Gathering of the Wolves. O'Hara will play the mother of Anne Hathaway's character, while Irons will play the protege of the scientist played by his own father, Jeremy Irons. Jacob Jones penned the film.
Tekken: Blood Feud: The seemingly never-ending cast of the big screen Tekken effort has added Emily Beecham (Cruella, Little Joe), Dave Bautista (How to Survive in Hell, Flash Gordon), Mark Dacascos ("Wu Assassins", John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum), Veronika Vernadskaya (Velvet, Stonewall) and Pom Klementieff (What We Were Promised, Thunder Force). All except Bautista will play roles they previously played in the LRF NOW prequel films. Bautista will play King, a masked luchadore. Chad Stahelski is directing the video game adaptation based on a script by Billy Cruder.
The Only Good Indians: With a title like "The Only Good Indians", it was expected that the film would feature many Native American/First Nations actors in its ensemble cast, and sure enough Gil Birmingham (Hawkworld, Radisson), Kiowa Gordon (Castle in the Ground, Blood Quantum), Tatanka Means (Red Wolf, Once Upon a River) and Alex Meraz (Bright, The Last Son) have all joined the horror project. Jeff Barnaby is directing the film which has been written by Rene Menzie. James Wan is providing his genre expertise as producer.
Northrock: Paul Bettany (A Little Life, Life After Life), Andrew Lincoln (Our Father, Cleopatra) and Sean Bean (Justice League Unlimited, Ghost Stories) have joined the original fantasy-adventure film, Northrock. Andrew Lincoln will play the king of the kingdom of Northrock, Bean will play one of his advisors, and Bettany will play a mysterious druid. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing the film from an original story by Jimmy Ellis.
Open Hearts: Mckenna Grace (The Mobster's Violin, Ghost Stories), Jackson Robert Scott (Escape the Unknown, Dark Matter) and Daniel Dae Kim (Gears of War, Dragon Ball: The Wrath of the Demon King) have signed on for smaller roles in the drama Open Hearts. Grace and Scott will play the children of Alexander Skarsgard and Rebecca Hall, while play a work colleague of Skarsgard's at a hospital. Danny Boyle is directing the film. Roy Horne penned the film based on the Danish film of the same name.
Batman Beyond: As is was announced at the latest LRF Comic-Con, Tanner Buchanan ("Cobra Kai", He's All That) has been tapped for the title role in Batman Beyond. Set 60 years in the future, he will play high schooler Terry McGinnis who takes up the new mantle of Batman with the help of tech whiz and Bat-fan, Jace Fox - to be played by Donald Glover (The Void, Alex + Ada). Jason Isaacs (Spawn 2: Payback, White Tiger) has signed for an undisclosed villainous role in the film. Neill Blomkamp (Mr. Earthling, Doppelganger 2) is set to the direct the futuristic superhero film. Hot off his first GRA win, writer Wyatt Allen (Whaling, Antarctica) wrote the script based on the DC animated series of the same name.
