Plot: Scientist have always been eager to explore the vast galaxy, they have been researching so that human can progress as a specie and by progress mean human should be able to contact other species out there, and, not long ago, the scientist finally shocked the human race by their achievement to contact some kind of creature from outer space.
The scientist however still cannot figure where did the reply come from, but from their calculation the assumed it came from a distant galaxy named GN-108036. As an honor to what they did, the scientist received medal of honor by the president of America and other honors from all of the world leaders.
Tyrone (Denzel Washington) is a homeless, he lived near the Smith household, John (Adrien Brody) and his wife Sarah (Alicia Vikander) harass him everyday. No one care about him but himself. One day he met a homeless conspiracy theorist, Kendis Young (Whoopi Goldberg), she is a funny and energetic woman. She have been talking about the alien lately and it just pissed the Christian mind of Tyrone.
Tyrone sincerely believe that there is no such thing as alien, if there is one, they would be written in the bible, every time Tyrone said it, Kendis just “Fuck Off” him.
Not long after the latest preach by Tyrone, there is a news that say, Scientist have received new message by the outer creature, they say the creature want to come in peace, they also said that they are afraid of weapon and hoped that earth can turn down its defense.
Kendis told the story to Tyrone and as always he preached about his believe, John who is a scientist himself, heard in and felt offended, he approached them but they just ran off, afraid if John will throw something at them as usual, see they run, John just shout at them that they should stop talking about something that they don’t understand.
6 month passed, in the middle of the night, a UFO came down from the sky, it became a huge news, billion of people watch it either directly or from tv. Tyrone was speechless and he immediately pray to the lord to save all of human, he can feel something is not right. Kendis in other hand make the “I Have Told You Dumbass” gesture to Tyrone.
3 hours without movement, suddenly the UFO shoot green light, everyone in the world can see that and a minute after that the lost their consciousness and fell to the ground.
Tyrone woke up, he found himself half buried in a black matter that look like soil, near him is John and Sarah, he can’t speak, he can’t talk or movie so are they, they can only move their eyes, when Tyrone look at them he can clearly see pain in their eyes, they want to be free, they don’t want to stuck there.
They stay there motionless, in silence and pain for years, they do not age physically only mentally, Tyrone in his last sanity beg to god to kill him, he beg to be kill everyday in the last 50 years. And maybe today his pray have an answer.
Suddenly there are shakes that can be feel, something like a hand came down from the sky and pick up John and Sarah, it also adjust Tyrone’s place so he can see that they actually inside a room, a regular room like a house.
John and Sarah maybe already knew about it, but they cant speak about it.
Tyrone can see a very big green weird creature taking Sarah and John, it put Sarah in another soil while it put John inside a small cage. They pour some liquid on Sarah and John, from Sarah body grew hands and she started to look like a plant while John, after he was poured with the liquid he starts to bark and act like a dog.
For another years, Tyrone can see them being treated nicely, Tyrone can see the pain that was always on there eyes is no longer there, they finally accept their fate.
One day, they big creature came to Tyrone to pick him up, it bring him to something that looked like a kitchen, it put him near Kendis, for a second there is relieve on her eyes when she saw him but the pain came back not long after that.
It picked her up, take her out of her soil and cut her open. Tear came down from his eyes, and now it is his turn when the knife-like thing cut him open, he could not feel anything as if he is numb to all the pain in the world but he still suffer, he suffer silently. No pain can be more hurting than Suffering.
