Man Made Machine: Ana de Armas (Mexican Gothic, Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six), Zeljko Ivanek (The Nest, The Last Duel) and Virginie Efira (Benedetta, An Impossible Love) will complete the cast of James Cameron's latest blockbuster, Man Made Machine. Character details have not been made public. The film was penned by Chad Taylor and Jimmy Ellis.
Malik: Stanley Tucci (Dandelion, The Giver) and Billy Crudup (Natural Selection, Burnt Dreams) have signed on for supporting roles in the Julia Roberts-led drama, Malik. Tucci will play Roberts' husband, while Crudup will play the lawyer Roberts hires to represent her adopted son, title character Malik (played by Ashton Sanders). David Fincher is directing from a script by Alex Conn.
Krueger: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (McCain, Dark Matter) and Trevante Rhodes (Resident Evil 3, Black Lightning) have joined the Freddy Krueger origin film, Krueger. The two will play a pair of detectives trying to catch the "Springwood Slasher" before he kills any more kids in town. Ari Aster is directing the film, based on a script by Joshua Collins.
The Hammer of Thor: Sophie Lowe (Poison Ivy: Mind Games, Y: The Last Man - Part 2), Laurie Davidson (Cats, The Good Liar), Sung Kang (F9, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic), Denis Menochet (Mary Magdalene, Assassin's Creed) and Jeanne Tripplehorn ("The Terminal List", Ana) have all joined Thor's first film in the LRF Marvel Universe. Lowe will play Lady Sif. Davidson, Kang and Menochet will play the Warriors Three - Fandral the Dashing, Hogun the Grim, and Volstagg the Valiant, respectively. Tripplehorn, meanwhile, will play the mother of Thor, Loki and Balder, Frigga. Roar Uthaug is directing the film from a script by Roy Horne.
The Driftwood Populace: Jeff Goldblum (Knight Rider, Radisson), Jason Schwartzman (The French Dispatch, Doctor Love), Craig Roberts (The Beatles, Tolkien), Owen Wilson (Revolution, Maximum Max) and Luke Wilson (Knievel, "Stargirl") have joined the massive ensemble cast of Wes Anderson's latest film, The Driftwood Populace. Goldblum will play the mayor of Driftwood, a peculiar coastal town. Schwartzman will play the ex-boyfriend of Saoirse Ronan's lead character, Roberts will play Ronan's new love interest, Luke Wilson will play the town librarian, while his brother Owen will play the husband of Helen Mirren's character in flashbacks. Jimmy Ellis wrote the original story.
Letters: Thomasin McKenzie (Black Hole, Inner Demons), Naomi Watts (Wonder Woman, Long Time), Dacre Montgomery (The Flash #2, Isla Vista) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Firestarter, The Tomorrow War) are set to star in the new horror film, Letters. McKenzie, Armstrong and Montgomery will play the children of Watts' character. The family moves into a new house following the death of the father, but find they may still be able to communicate with him through writing letters. Niki Caro (Zatanna, The Hazel Wood) has been tasked with directing the film based on a script by Billy Cruder (El Dorado, Tekken: Blood Feud).
