Reaction: This latest Marvel Universe production almost became the first LRF Marvel project to fail to turn a profit. In fact, if it weren't for the film's low budget and some merchandising income, the film would have lost money.

"Nomad continues the mid-level Marvel hero trend to grand fashion. Affleck commands the scene, which really carries the entire film. Unfortunately, Zwick's direction is uneven as the tone doesn't stay strong towards the end. I enjoyed it, but I also have to say it doesn't pay off completely pay-off. P.S. the PCS had me floating out of my seat in excitement." - Diana Powers, The Independent

"Casey Affleck gets the biggest platform in his LRF career and he makes the most of it as the dejected veteran with a heart of gold. With that said, it doesn’t really feel like a superhero like movie and more a drama/mystery film with hints of sci-fi. That doesn’t make it a bad movie, but it’s clear it’s setting up for something else rather than be it’s own thing. It works, but I wish we could see these characters in a bigger movie." - Mitchell Parker, New York Times

"Nomad simply does not work as a comic book/superhero action film. The film doesn't actually have a ton of weaknesses, yet it just doesn't come across as strong or memorable. The film could have used more in the action and villain departments to help it stand out - and help take advantage of the strong social story at the film's center." - Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune

Rated PG-13 for some sequences of intense violence and thematic material
