Reaction: Camping ended up costing more than the studio would have liked due to the higher than usual salaries Sheridan, Reinhart and Van Patten all required to appear in the film. Those extra expenses appeared to doom the project's chances of turning a profit.
"This film can potentially become a cult classic through future Blu-ray sales as Director Ti West presents another rendition of the Blair Witch Project story. While the actors' performances were decent, their lack of depth almost detracts from the film's quality; however, their creative death scenes ultimately make the movie worth watching." - Tiffany Osmose, Associated Press
"Despite a talented young cast and a hot horror director, Camping is completely devoid of original plot developments and ideas of what to do with its skilled cast. I think a good horror film could be made with these pieces, but not with this script, which is far from Billy Cruder's best writing work." - Cooper Wilson, The Earl Hays Press
"Camping, to me, felt a bit too generic to really have any genuine thrills or scares. There are a few decent moments of gore that were entertaining, but the script didn't make me care about any of the characters, so their demise had very little of the intended emotional impact." - Brenton Smalls, Playboy/
Rated R for violence, gore and frightening images
