Reaction: Like the first Namor film, this sequel is another major box office hit for the studio's Marvel Universe. It even manages to surpass Wonder Woman: Labyrinth to become the 2nd highest grossing and 2nd most profitable film of Season 27 (so far).

"Imperius Rex may not feel as epic as the first Namor the Sub-Mariner film, but it is a tighter film from a pacing perspective. Like the first film, it delivers exciting action sequences, but this time around the filmmakers had a better idea of how to develop some of the supporting characters that were mostly ignored last time around. The first film surprised with its greatness, while this meets the new expectations easily." - Michael Carthage, Associated Press

"This Namor sequel manages to up the ante, delivering a superhero actioner that gives great bang for its buck. This film gives the audience big action, colorful villains, and a likable-but-flawed hero to root for. Malone's script gives a little hint of where the future may take Ehrenreich's Namor, and you can count me as excited." - Ben Mazur, SciFiNow

“While the ending felt slightly rushed, I have to say Namor The Sub-Mariner: Imperius Rex is a fantastic watch. I was excited all throughout, sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. The action set-pieces are what sets this apart from many other superhero projects, as well as one of the best actors working today in Alden Ehrenreich. Although not an awards worthy performance, he delivers once more as Namor. The visuals in this film were the shining light, especially the human and aquatic creature hybrids.” - Terry Setev, The Bateau Gazette

Rated PG-13 for action violence
