Plot: The movie begins in a night on a deserted Nevada road where two girls, two girlfriends, Hannah (Elle Fanning) and Francine (Samara Weaving) are joking aboard their car.

In fact, Hannah's sister is waiting for her because she is close to marriage. As long as they are talking a black car is likely to send them out of the way, Hannah can control the car but a tire breaks and can not continue the journey. After a first moment of fear they decide to go to an old house in the neighborhood and as it seems to be deserted, they seem to rest in the barn next to the farm. The next morning, when she wakes up, Hannah finds herself alone and starts looking for her girlfriend. Shortly after, while Hannah is looking for help and someone to get in touch with, she finds an old inn. After a look inside the inn Hannah notes that it is populated by ugly, sloppy and dirty men. After an exchange with the owner of the inn, Jacob (Michael Madsen), a dark, rude man with an ugly scar on his face, he hunts Hannah out of her room in bad weather and discourages her to continue and directs her to a large villa on the banks of a small lake not far from that area. As long as he is looking for the lake he is joined by a deformed man, Gurt (Peter Dinklage) who accompanies her to the villa. He says he is the all-rounder of Lady Morgana, the owner of the villa. Hannah remains entranced by the majesty of the house and the beauty of the garden. As soon as she enters the house she is welcomed by three beautiful girls dressed only in a robe, each with a different color. The three girls are Jenny (Sophie Turner), a red-haired girl with a necklace apparently formed by little bones, Sarah (Ashley Benson) with blond hair and angelic smile and light yellow dressing gown and Tracy (Ella Purnell) with her light green dressing gown. Although Hannah tries to communicate with the three girls, she only gets smiles and caresses on Sarah's face and hair. Hannah, at that point, takes a step back, frightened by the behavior of these three girls. In fact, they seem almost in a trance, hypnotized. At that point he hears a gentle voice coming from the stairs, is a charming woman, who introduces herself as Lady Morgana (Charlize Theron) who tells that those three girls are her maids and apologizes for their behavior. Also tells her to rest some now and that he would soon see Francine again. Morgana says that Gurt found her looking for help and took her to the villa.Hannah, surprised and happy with the news, began to wait and let herself go to the kindness of Lady Morgana. Just before lunch the meeting took place, but Francine was apathetic and had the same behavior as the three maids. After lunch, while Hannah wanders around the villa, she sees Lady Morgana busy making strange chants. Morgana sees her and since she felt a sense of love for the girl from the first moment he tells her that she is thousands of years old and shows her for a moment her true aspect. Morgana continues telling that she needs the souls of women who cross her territory proposing them a pact that will give her youth and beauty for eternity. Those who refuse his proposal are imprisoned in the dungeons of the castle forever.

Hannah reluctantly understands that Francine has accepted the compromise and that it will probably never be as it was before and asks Lady Morgana if she can think about it and meanwhile thinks of a way to escape. Meanwhile, Hannah is disliked by her maids, especially Jenny, who starts making bad jokes. Hannah also sees various scenes dressed in dark satanic rites and sex scenes among the girls.

Meanwhile, Gurt, jealous of Morgana's attention to Hannah, says that in order to escape, he has to steal emerald talismans in Lady Morgana's room, which gives the woman much power. Hannah manages to steal them despite Gurt betraying her by telling Jenny that she was going to steal them and while Morgana is busy with Tracy she runs away from the house while Morgana and the girls begin to feel sick. Hannah, however, thinks of happy moments with Francine and decides to return to the villa and save Morgana and the girls, now fainted. Morgana, understanding the immense love of the girl for Francine, says to follow her and everything vanishes.

Hannah opens her eyes and finds herself at night, in her broken car next to Francine. Both are seriously injured and rescuers are trying to free them from the car. The movie ends with Hannah in a stretcher next to the ambulance that meets the eyes of a nurse with the same face as Lady Morgana.
