Reaction: We thought we were set for a success with the modest budget and decent name value from the cast, but there just doesn't seem to have been a very big audience for the film. The lack of success may also finally prove once and for all that Michael Cera is not a bankable leading man.

"Is it as good as the 1994 adaptation? No. But its cast is game and director Tim Miller adds plenty of visual flair to the proceedings that add up to a worthwhile movie-going experience." - Geoff Bray, Slant Magazine

"This film simply shows that Jim Carrey performance in the original adaptation of the comic was lightning in a bottle. It made the film, and without a stand-out performance like that, this latest adaptation pales in comparison." - Clark Davis, JoBlo.com

"Michael Cera is certainly no Jim Carrey. His meek comedic style may work in the beginning, but once the mask is donned it doesn't quite work, which hurts the film immensely - even though Michael Shannon fares much better with the mask on." - Ken Decker, Denver Post

Rated R for graphic violence and some language
