Certainly not my favorite round of Season 12 so far, but I have a job to do nonetheless, so here's The Roundup....
3. Michael Shannon
I liked seeing Shannon get to stretch some different acting muscles than he usually does. He not only got to chew up the usual scenery as the Big Head, but he also got the rare chance to play the straight man.
2. Dwayne Johnson
About time this man hit the big screen for the studio. Arguably the biggest action star in Hollywood, it took 12 seasons for him to make an appearance on the screen for LRF (not counting his animation voice work in the Banded Ants series).
1. Under Pressure
While this round wasn't the finest, Under Pressure came out on top as the highest quality film of the round. It was somewhat predictable in the end, but that didn't really hurt the film too much as it was very well-done.
3. AGOS: A Game of Survival
I just feel like we've all seen this film already between Battle Royale, The Hunger Games, The Running Man, and the various other knock-off films. It just didn't provide enough new material to make it work for me.
2. Tom Green
What was the point of casting Tom Green, a man who hasn't been on the big screen in well over a decade? I'm not even someone who hates him, I just don't see the point of his casting.
1. Michael Cera
Put a nail in him. His career as a fledgling comedic lead has to officially be over at this point. He can work well in quirkier supporting roles, but Cera should not attempt to headline a film any time soon.
