All the Pretty Horses: Director Terrence Malick's first film for LRF has completed its cast with the additions of Eugenio Durbez (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Overboard), Michael Fassbender (Ubik, Cleopatra) and Olga Kurylenko (Metal Gear Solid 2, God of War). Fassbender and Kurylenko will play the parents of Nicholas Hamilton's lead character, while Durbez will play a Mexican political exile. New writer Rachel Hallett Hardcastle makes her writing debut with the adaptation.
High School: Logan Miller ("Rubber City Rockers", We Summon the Darkness), Marco Perella ("The Son", My All-American) and Will Kindrachuk (Boy Erased, "Preacher") have signed on to round out the cast of director Luca Guadagnino's latest film, High School. The film stars Elle Fanning as twins Tegan and Sara, based on the memoir of the musical duo. Alex Conn penned the film.
The Sandman: Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale, "Black Narcissus"), Eva Marie Saint (Winter's Tale, Superman Returns), Timothy Spall (Denial, Mr. Turner) and Chad Taylor regular John Gallagher Jr. (Swim Through the Darkness, Ubik) have all joined The Sandman from director Jonathan Glazer and writer Chad Taylor. Franciosi has been cast as Death, Saint will play Florence Pugh's grandmother, Spall has been cast as Lucien, while Gallagher Jr. will play Pugh's landlord.
Kiss Me Katie: Eric Bana (The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, Hunter), Michael B. Jordan (Nexus, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) and Mackenzie Foy (The Little Girl Who Was Too Fond of Matches, Born in Brooklyn) will headline a new suspense drama. Bana and Jordan will play cops called to the scene of a crime at a local high school, while Foy will play a student. Jean-Marc Vallee (And the Birds Rained Down, Haute Couture) has been hired to direct the film based on an original script by Jacob Jones (Whammy, The Crow: Resurrected).
Escape the Unknown: Emma Stone (The Powerpuff Girls, Under Pressure), Dakota Johnson (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, Outlaw Country) and Shailene Woodley (Elysian, Snowden) have agreed to star in the supernatural horror film, Escape the Unknown. They will play a group of young women in 1860s Alabama who, obviously, encounter some supernatural horrors. Scott Cooper (The Tower, Ranger) has signed on to direct the film from a script by Jack Slipter (Death in the Shadows, Visions).
Namor the Sub-Mariner: Alden Ehrenreich (Elysian, The Raven) has already been announced as the title character in the upcoming Marvel Universe blockbuster, Namor the Sub-Mariner, but now LRF has revealed that JC Chandor (Bad Education, Triple Frontier) has signed on to direct the film based on a script by John Malone (Crimson, Superman: The Man of Tomorrow).
