Reaction: The numbers continue to be strong for the studio's Marvel Universe releases. While the film is in the lower half of the Marvel Universe series in terms of box office, we still view the film as a massive success, especially considering that the Hulk has never been a huge box office draw.
"Similar to previous Marvel Universe entry The Fantastic Four, The Hulk takes a bit of a stripped down approach to the origin of its title character. It felt like we didn't get to see enough of the filmic potential of the Hulk himself." - Roger Taggart, Chicago Tribune
"While this film didn't give us too much that we haven't seen before, the filmmakers really nailed the casting of this one. Mark Duplass makes for the most believable Banner yet, while Bryce Dallas Howard and Don Johnson do great work and bring a lot of life to fairly standard roles." - Janet Donnelly, Empire Magazine
"The Hulk is a tough character to get right on the big screen, but I think it is safe to say that this film from writer Mark Newton and director Leigh Whannell has probably done the best job of the bringing the character to life, compared to the other films starring the Hulk." - Ben Mazur, SciFiNow
Rated PG-13 for superhero action violence
